Kind of tuned them out immediately since they have Milwaukee taking Wiggins for defensive reasons...wtf
Celtics having to make a choice between Smart and Randle is just....I think I'd just get Smart, see if I can get Monroe for the Max and hope things work out. That situation is terrible.

They have the Jazz considering Randle because he apparently could help the defense.
Which is, uhh, interesting.
Assuming I end up with the #2 overall and Jabari is off the board, I'd seriously be tempted to try to trade down in order to get both PHX and Chicago picks.
Give me CleAnthony Early, Doug McDermott, Nik Stauskas, and Zach LaVine and I feel like my chances of having an all-star hidden in there are not bad...

Just warming up my seat here.
I hope Capela turns out to be a NBA level talent and gets drafted by a team I like.

Bucks fans might as well off themselves if their team opens the new season with "It's Early! And Stauskas! A new era!" should they fall to 2 or 3.

Why would a team picking second care about just having a chance to get an all star.
Early, McDermott, and Lavine all have stats closer to UDFAs than all-stars. The amount of 23 year olds who have become good players after accumulating no defensive stats in college (which is true for both Early and McDermott) is super small. McDermott makes Kelly Olynyk look like Bill Russell in rim protection.

McDermott's a tweener PF tho

Monroe is a better passer than their PG… dribbling to the hole isnt helping the floor spacing with Drummond also… Monroe in the high post does and if they screen correctly they could be like the Webber Vlade Kings
I don't think that's a fair comparison cause neither of those two have a reliable mid range jumpshot like CWebb did. The successful two big pairings in this league need that one guy who the opponent can't cheat off of beyond 15 feet (Gasol, Aldridge, Timmy, etc.). Again, I'm aware of the fact that the only discernable skill josh smith has on offense is getting to the rim and finishing. Not ideal, but it at least opens some drive and kick opportunities for shooters or lob/putbacks for Drummond. Basically be a poor (homeless?) man's Blake to Drummond's DeAndre.
Bottom line, you can't get rid of Smoove because of his contract. So you have two options: either you get rid of Monroe or you keep all 3. We all know how bad that second option turned out.
Monroe's jumper is improving and his passing has always been stellar.. I think it is an apt comparison.
Getting rid of Monroe would be silly.. If they have to keep all three should become a 6th man type player and Smoove would be perfect for that.. I know it won't happen but oh well...

Yeah, the Smith contract is terrible.
Thank god the suns didn't end up with that!

http://vorped.com/bball/index.php/player/shotchart/965-Greg-Monroe/season/2013-2014-REG?ui=zone14
It's marginally better than his shot chart from last year but doesn't really move the needle one way or another especially given the volume of attempts he's making.
Monroe will be a good player somewhere. He'd be perfect next to Anthony Davis who can provide the rim protection and help defense that Monroe sorely lacks.
The Knicks always keeps on giving...

In other words, the Knicks finally got relegated. RT@IanBegley: The Knicks' D-League team has been named the Westchester Knicks.
I don't like to suggest this. Cause i've really got nothing against them.
But, Pek for Smith could happen. Contractually.
But really, wolves need wings.

MCW's stats were really good while he looked terrible on the court so I don't know.

Steve Kerr headed to the Warriors. Got to think Jim Dolan played a role in this.
lol

Couldn't get that No Dolan contract language I guess.
lol
Rick Bonnell @rick_bonnell 6m
Steve Kerr a smart guy; smart enough to find alternative to working for Jim Dolan.
damn
Fuck Kerr, he's going to sham the Warriors.
Seriously though, this is not a *fuck da Knicks* post. Most of the attraction would be due to a new system/offense, new philosophy and people coming back heathier/unfucked than the start of last year (Amar'e, JR, Shumpert). Knicks were a poor team last year, but they shouldn't have been 37 win bad.
But what realistic prospect do they provide of being competitive, even in the ass Leastern Conference, in the next few years?
Chris Herring @HerringWSJ about 10 minutes agoYep.
Fact that Phil didn't get his 1st choice is secondary to me. But fact that he didn't get someone he's extremely close to is concerning.
He would be perfect with Davis because Davis is a better version of the center he playing with now
http://vorped.com/bball/index.php/player/shotchart/1381-Anthony-Davis/season/2013-2014-REG
Not quite. Davis can actually shoot and put the ball on the floor. Plus, I think Davis's a natural power forward. Already the rangiest big man in the league.
So why is Kerr such a hot commodity?. I have no idea what makes him so seemingly qualified. It feels like when the Suns hired him to be their GM despite never being in the front office.Phil Jackson... except now he won't be receiving advice directly from Phil.
Knicks stay the Knicks. Who's the Amare of coaches that the Knicks will have to stoop to? Mike Brown?
Hopefully, this means Melo will be even more convinced to leave the Knicks, and he forces his way to the Bulls.
Even though I'm not a Bulls fan.
Even though I'm not a Bulls fan.
Hope this means Carlos Boozer can get the hell off that team when Melo comes in
maybe then they can finally be a contender

Kurt Rambis is being mentioned on Twitter for the Knicks job.
Yesssssss.
Yesssssss.
Knicks regrouping after Kerr surprised w/ Golden State choice, but sources say Derek Fisher and Kurt Rambis will be among those considered
steve kerr has agreed on a deal to coach warriors
Still don't see why Kerr is such a hot coaching commodity but I'm glad the coaching search is over.

Zach Lowe @ZachLowe_NBAKnicks still losing.
Knicks are stunned by Kerr's decision. So am I, honestly. Expected the lure of Phil to be too strong.

So, Kerr got $5mil/yr.
Stan Van Gundy got $7mil/yr.
Pop is paid $6m/yr.
Stan is paid to run the basketball operation too, and Pop obviously makes a lot of personnel decisions.
By comparison Kidd is being paid $2.5M a year.
Basically in order to fuck the Knicks, the Warriors overpaid for Kerr.
Kurt Rambis is being mentioned on Twitter for the Knicks job.I would really like for this to happen.

So you'd have Fisher vs Kidd as the coaches of the NY franchises? Awesome.

Don't act like Kidd isn't your coach.
I'm definitely happy with Kerr. Hopefuly we finally have a real offensive system. Why?
Dude has literally not a single minute of experience, he can be Mark Jackson B for all you know. Both jumped straight from broadcasting to coaching.
Unless you want to count Kerr being a terrible GM for the Suns as experience.
what's the possibility of Kerr implementing the triangle?
a structured offense can definitely benefit the warriors.
a structured offense can definitely benefit the warriors.
5y/$25m for a first year coach that has never even coached at ANY level with no options?
Wtttrf
Don't even get me started. Steve has my support 100% as does the rest of the team and whomever the rest of the coaching staff ends up being.
Lacob/Myer look like a bunch of high paid bitches that were trying to give Mark Jackson the finger no matter what the cost.
We'll see.
