Just watched Killing Of A Sacred Deer. The characters acted in the same manner as in The Lobster which made sense for that film but didn't make much sense in this one (outside of the daughter). This makes me way of watching The Favourite if all the director's characters act like this.
I did not expect Aquaman to be as entertaining as it was. It has a lot of problems, but it didn't take itself seriously...at all. There is a damn Octopus playing drums, under the sea. Lol.
The trench segment let Wan flex his horror chops. If the movie it reminds me of ever got a remake, he's absolutely the man for the job. It's one of my favorite scenes out of all of these comic book films.
Aquaman kept it real throughout. It's cool to see a hero learn the value of mercy, even if it wasn't written the tightest. Black Iron Man...Black Manta is a cool character, but fuuucccckkk I wish his dialogue wasn't so damn cheesy and vapid.
It's good fun. It doesn't take itself seriously, in the slightest, and it has a grand Indiana Jones feel to it. It's got some issues (CG in spots being bad, Nicole Kidman sleep walking through the little she has to do, dialogue), but it's fun.
Oceanmaster was dripping sauce when he put the mask on. Flyest mf'er on Earth at that moment.

Regarding aquaman....they just had too much going on in one film. The movie is a slurpy that's sweet and then suddenly you're getting brain freeze from how long you've been drawing it in.
