They definitely get the kids. During Christmas my 14 year old cousin asked me why his moms card kept getting charged when he gave bits to his favorite fortnite streamer. He showed me his twitch and I just saw an insane amount of I think $9.99 transactions.

Lol, I don't doubt it. But fuck Kid Icarus, I'm beating that game one day whether it wants me to or not.

Right now I'm trying to beat my backlog down. Smokey threw down the gauntlet and then ran away, I'm picking it up. I think I should be able to get it down to around 15 games by the end of the year if I don't buy too much stuff. But I have a copy of Skyrim I haven't even played yet, so MMOs with long-ass battles are kind of out right now.

It's crazy big, right? I'm ~30 hours in and I've uncovered like 30% of the map. Granted, I've been doing absolutely everything in each province before moving on, I probably don't need to do that. But still, it's world is almost Breath of the Wild big. I initially hoped to get through it in 2 months, but I'll probably have to revise that.

Wow, I beat 15 games just last year. Are you just buying multiple games each month and then throwing them on the shelf after a few hours? Because say your gaming time works out to an average of an hour a day (maybe you skip a weekday or two but get in 2-3 hours on a Saturday or Sunday), that's 30 hours in a month, which is plenty of time to finish most games. Especially if you're playing retro stuff.

I tend to jump around from game to game, and I find that if I come back to something that's been on the shelf for long enough it's entertaining again. I might be playing some games over a period of years (just picked up REmake again last night, I bought that the night it hit PS4 like 4 years ago) but in the end stuff usually gets finished.

It helps if when the internet hype cycle is pumping up AMAZING NEW GAME X you remember that you still have the last amazing new game X in the same genre or series still sitting there unfinished and and pick that up again instead.

Rightly or wrongly a lot of people get information, entertainment or even some kind of need fulfilled in watching streamers. I can see people donating to ensure they keep at it. It's not that much different from paying the cover at your friends band by going to their show at the bar. In all the ways people spend money, I don't see the big deal in it being spent on folks providing entertainment in some form or another especially as conventional jobs dry way up.

I was surprised at how little(if at all) clipping her hair had considering how detailed it was and all the locks. It's so flowy.

It just looks really last gen to me. You have armor clipping through capes and other parts of your armor while just standing up. It's the most clipping I've seen in a game in a loooong while. It's like they didn't even bother.

For sure, Alloy clipped through all vegetation that wasn't stealth grass(and it was annoying) . Clipping with armor and stuff was rare or the dev at least tried to conceal it(did a fantastic job with her hair).

The pS4 conistenly has some of the best looking games out there period so I don't know what you're talking about. BOTW has less clipping than MHW and it's running on PS2 hardware.

I'm not a fan of Crysis 3's art direction, the ugly character models or the janky animation. Therefore, the games I listed look far superior.

A game's visuals are far more than how many pixels it pushes, or how much anti aliasing it has, that's always been more about the hardware than the software. It's about how everything comes together. Despite how technically advanced Crysis 3 may be, that doesn't overcome it looking just as stale as a Marvel or Transformers movie.

Then you can go into a game's art design and how well executed it was etc.

I've never played an SMT game. Persona 5 was/is gonna be my first foreray into those games. From what I've seen of the writing tho....
