Finished the story on Celeste. What a wonderful game. Now I'm gonna work through those B-sides and hopefully not destroy any of my controllers.
By data Go To Postsumo about to show up nintendo againI don't even think it would be possible to make a better cart racing game than MK8. It's over, they need to retire the genre like skateboarding games.

By rodeoclown Go To PostOriginal FPS based on an established global IP.
Perfect Dark is an established IP.
By jjasper Go To PostI liked KZ2. The rest of them sucked though.
The PSP and Vita Killzone games were pretty good too. KZ1/3/Shadow Fall were trash.
By blackace Go To PostMK 8 is just perfection?Did I stutter?
By Mariosalic Go To PostNot surprised Data is a Sonic Racing truther.Me and my wife played Sonic all stars frequently until pretty much the day MK8 came out and then never again...

Monster Hunter World looks to be the best selling MH ever. Gotta say I'm surprised that it seems to be catching on so well with Western audiences.

By Laboured Go To Post180+m/s of input lag, gents. Rancid.Wait, that was the input lag on KZ2? holy shit, that's 11 frames at 60 fps and nearly 6 at 30fps. that's almost unplayable when you add in the input lag on most lcd's.
By joefu Go To PostFinished the story on Celeste. What a wonderful game. Now I'm gonna work through those B-sides and hopefully not destroy any of my controllers.I’m on the second to last chapter. It really is a fantastic game. The story is much better than I thought it was going be. Really great stuff.
By s y Go To Posthttp://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/news/html/e180129.htmlI personally thought western sales wouldn’t make up for eventual lagging Japanese sales. Glad I was wrong. Kind of makes Capcom look dumb for keeping it exclusive to Nintendo systems for so long if this does hit 10 million copies like some are predicting.

Yeah, the story of Celeste was something I wasn't expecting. Really good stuff.

By blackace Go To PostJust hard to understand you with the shaft that far in your mouth is all..Can I live? Look I'm sorry Nintendo hurt you but I should be allowed to think really good video games are really good video games without the shade.

By Hitch Go To PostMy kingdom for an anjanath plateAre you capturing it or just killing it?
Shadow of the Colossus is at a 93 on metacritic with 58 reviews. Just pre-ordered mine for $31 at Best Buy.
Wow, Sony is so awesome. PS4 is a beast.

By Kibner Go To PostCapturing gives more and rarer rewards.Ah
The one time I tried capturing Anjanath he still didn't go down after limping, a shock trap and all five tranq bombs. Is there anything special to capturing the bigger monsters?
Also, destroying certain parts of the monster will also give you certain rewards. The Hunters Notes inside the game tell you the possible rewards for breaking body parts on each monster.
By Hitch Go To PostAhNot really. He may not have been weakened enough. Different monsters have different tells. When they start limping away is a sign that they are close, but not necessarily weak enough.

If, after they get to their destination, they are sleeping, it usually means they are weak enough.
However, some don't go to sleep but go into a death throe as their tell. I don't know whether it is best to wait it out before attempting to capture or try to do it in the middle of that tantrum.
There may be other behaviors, too, but those are the ones I remember seeing.
Oh, another benefit to capturing a monster is that it is then added as an arena monster for you to fight. This is good because there are some items that can only be carved from the corpse and if you need that item and the monster is unlocked in the arena, then you don't need to actually go hunt it and shit and have to chase it when it weakens. You can just fight it quickly and easily there with some tools (ballista, traps, cannons, iirc) to make it easier.
Also, it looks like you get an extra chance at getting an Anj plate if you sever and carve its tail.
By joefu Go To PostJust link him to kiranico if that's still a thingI had honestly completely forgotten about that site. Thankfully, this version doesn't need a reference like that quite as much: https://mhworld.kiranico.com
By Smokey Go To PostKibner you just made 4 posts in a row lolless intimidating than a huge block of posts and less confusing than me going back and editing in additional thoughts minutes later
harumph
Anyone wanna help me try and capture him?
Got a couple of 50 minute anjanath investigations. Wasted my last voucher on my last attempt though.
edit: I did my last runs with Mastadon. He got 2 plates in one run. Absolutely disgusting.

Just got 2 plates by joining an SOS to hunt a kulu and an anjanath. Someone else just happened to capture the Anjanath :D
By Hitch Go To PostJust got 2 plates by joining an SOS to hunt a kulu and an anjanath. Someone else just happened to capture the Anjanath :DBefore starting a quest, I always check to see if there is anyone else doing the SOS first. Yeah, you get less money and don't necessarily save much time, but it's more fun to play with others.
Bluepoint improved a lot as a studio. Them gaining Sony trust means that studio going to be swimming in work.
By Xpike Go To Postthis isn't because of nintendo tho, its because of a big marketing push + making it so you don't need a wiki to play + it finally going past ps2 graphicsSure that's my point. Why didn't Capcom have a port of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate ready for PS3 and 360 in addition to the Wii U version along with a marketing push? I know they were scared to take any sort of risk back then, but still.
By Kuma Go To PostBluepoint improved a lot as a studio. Them gaining Sony trust means that studio going to be swimming in work.Yeah. Wouldn't be surprised if they do ps5 launch title now that they have an art team and their impressive work on SOTC.
