In the real though, it requires a lot time commitment. I don't have it.

I want to like Siege. I have given it two chances and it still hasn't caught on. It may be time to give it a third soon.

In Siege you're fighting your own lack of map knowledge as much as anything else, which is the biggest issue with the game. The maps have a little too much going on, and they aren't designed in such a way as to be very instinctual. Unfortunately a very huge amount of winning encounters comes down to having deep map knowledge.
I'm not sure of what the solution is.
Trying to describe an enemy's position when you haven't had time to tag them is a nightmare
'The window. No, in the room next to you. Not that one, the other one. The other window I mean. Oh you're dead.'
Don't think I'll ever learn the room names

Well, I could be bias but I think a lot of the maps actually cater to quickly learning them. Not all of them, but I'd say the majority of the base maps and half of the DLC maps do a good job of colour-coding stairs/rooms/hallways and having peculiar objects in them to assist with recognizing where you are.
Take Kafe for instance. The map has three sets of stairs, but the main two that lead to the top floor are colour coded (red/white), and the third set is right in the middle by the library (library stairs).
The top floor is broken up into 3 main areas. The bar below skylight, the lounge, and the freezer.
The bar houses two bomb sites across from each other (A/B) so you can quickly find your baring.
The red stairs lead up to the lounge, the first room is a cigar shop and then there's a larger room with a piano and christmas trees in (cigar/piano). From there, there's a white corridor that leads you back around to the bar area and white stairs.
That theme of recognisable and specific items in each room is something that prevails throughout the map, and throughout most of the maps in the game. Again though, probably my own bias at play here.

The room names are displayed next to the compass at the bottom of the screen (when you're actually in that room, anyway). "North-west corner, server room", "big window west of blue bar", etc. Makes it a lot easier to make a call out than digging into all the community call-outs.
I also got into the habit some time ago of pinging where I'm getting shot/die from so I can quickly shout out ">operator name< on ping"

Went on a 19 killstreak with her earlier, because of this exact train of thought. If you're not paying attention, it's free headshots. You'll turn around dead.
By Laboured Go To PostBought NMS. Blame Smokey and Vapes. At least it has a 65 Days of Static soundtrack to keep me warm.
It's grindy in the beginning, and the starter planet is designed to be toxic to get you to learn the systems.

While I was playing it it was charming but never actually felt an itch to play it.

By Moris Go To Postwait…is NMS good now?
At it’s core, it’s still the same shallow gameplay loop but it now looks a fair bit nicer, has more fleshed out systems and mechanics, more content and a whole lot has been revamped.
Having not played it at length since the original PS4 launch, playing it now feels like going from an early access build to the fully funded and content complete release.
