By Hitch Go To PostDoes anyone here pretend the Gamecube controller is anything more than a pile of shite?GC controller, like almost all Nintendo controllers, was only ever good when playing Nintendo games.

There will be a traditonal Nextbox and a streaming Nextbox that will launch aside it. That's the Scarlett family so far.
According to Sams, Microsoft thinks they figured how to eliminate the latency issue with streaming.

Hell, there is noticeable latency when on a hardwired LAN. And then you have to worry about bandwidth speeds and caps. Still won't be able to play anything that requires quick reactions.

I understand the impulse to get into this space before Amazon & Google box them out, since the results will be good enough for most of the audience. And there may be a future infrastructure that can minimize a lot of these effects.
But at the same time, for whatever reason I feel attached to console hardware and physical games and platforms having actual unique characteristics as opposed to the homogenous mash we’ve just about arrived at.
Finished Fairy Fencer Dark Force, pretty solid JRpg.
Next up is Dragon Cliff and maybe Child of Light

it'll be interesting to see how it feels, but it'll obviously suck anyway for certain genres
yeah, steam link and other solutions also do most of that (just not the collision detection and i don't see why that matters when it can't instantly change how things are being rendered) and they still have latency issues on a lan

The goal is it to get where 98% of the people don't care or notice it anymore and that's quite achievable.

A next gen console version at potentially 99-149? Wow.
Having a cloud version at a significantly lower price could be huge. Azure to is not a game. I'm curious what it's like. For them to bring it to market, it must be in pretty good shape.

I'd trust Microsoft's ability in this area over Sonys. Azure is legit. The folks that have managed to emulate 2 generations of consoles by software with enhancements, vs a company who can't figure out how to let you change your PSN ID without crashing the entire service.
It doesn't improve if effort isn't put into it. Good thing is they're still releasing a standard box. Having a significantly lower priced option by cloud is fine with me. If it was strictly a cloud only version......nah.
I was watching some Blazblue Cross Tag video, which led me to checking out Under Night In-Birth EXE Late[st]. I never quite knew what it was, it seemed like some amorphous anime property filled with gobbledygook words.
Turns out it’s actually a fighting game with long visual novel sections built in filled with gobbledygook words. That sounded kind of interesting but then I looked at the trophy guide. It’s got stuff like “complete all 179(!) tutorials.” Fuck that.

Octopath got next, this is shitting on Persona which I thoroughly enjoyed. I've been distracted all day at work theory crafting parties.

adds nothing to the gameplay. just a nonsense barrier tbh
Vermintide 2 is actually a difficult game to pug in. At least on the first not-easy difficulty level.
Much more focused on exploration, and setting the game to Hard, removes the white paint that shows you where to jump on ledges. Looks better than the previous released trailers showing Predator Lara.
Guy found another players base. Built into the side of a mountain.
Robbed somebody of 2.5 million units in their base
this is an older video. the new update will expand the capabilities of base building up to 20,000 parts iirc

Looks better than the previous released trailers showing Predator Lara.Legit the most "Tomb Raider" feeling gameplay I've seen from any of the reboot series. I know it's all a lie though. Wish Eidos would just keep pumping out Guardian of Light/Temple of Osiris style games and more Lara Croft Go content.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is good and...that video kinda leaves me flat tbh. I stopped watching after a couple of minutes. I’d probably like it because I generally enjoy polished open world games, but I’m not really hyped for it based on that.
Still 40 quid for NMS on Steam/GoG. “50% off” at Cdkeys, £25. I want in, but not that at those prices given I bought and refunded it for £16 just last year.
No Man’s Sale.

By Freewheelin Go To PostWhy is HDR in Hellblade exclusive to the Xbox version 🤔🤔
They knew they were getting snatched up. The analysis I've seen of the HDR says it's top tier.
Of course I could just try it myself considering I own it on xbox smh
this hobby is demonic

Wait for a sale.
Although I double dipped and copped on Xbox...need that HDR.
I picked up the Gears of War 3 expansion Raam's Shadow because it's on sale and for $7.50, it's good.
Help, I've fallen into this Gears of War hole and I can't get out and now I'm playing Judgment.

It's fucking stupid.
Unless companies like Microsoft/Sony/Netflix are willing to invest money into building out their own 'last-mile' internet infrastructure and injecting real competition into the consumer-market field of Internet Service Providers in order to fuck with Comcast and AT&T, they can all just STFU about cloud streaming, respectfully.
I'm not paying for no Internet on top of Internet.
That's where the real market disruption is needed.
Point is, they should become telco companies before they decide to become consumer-level cloud companies, and their cloud applications should just become a value added feature of their telco services.

this is such a terrible idea, y'all don't even know
i can only imagine them trying to balance the classes of the current edition of D&D (5e)
you have classes that can perform acts of god multiple times per day versus some whose defining characteristic is they can swing a sword four times in a round (six seconds per the abstraction) all day
i want this to be an attempt so bad just to see the fukkery

at this point I'm just going to assume the FighterZ trials are piss easy and I suck, because I can't be bothered to fuck with SFV trials any longer
SFV trials are easy. I remember not being able to complete everyone in SF4 but with V I completed everyone in a day
beat resident evil hd remaster in less than 3 hours in a single sitting. always fascinating how tight the classic re games are once you figure out efficient routing and how few enemies you truly have to take care of.
the cavern section will always suck tho.

there's something srsly fucked up with GOAT difficulty in FNC
I cannot be beating Isaac Frost on the 3rd round with Butterbean.
This cannot happen.
