Titanfall 2’s campaign has took me by surprise, it’s really, really fucking good. Up there with Doom’s single player.
The movement is so fucking crisp and smooth too. Even in BT, despite being a massive mech it doesn’t feel clunky at all.
What’s the deal with Rockstar Social Club fuckery on Steam anyway? I bought GTAV since it was 16 quid, created a new social club account because my old one must be about 10 years old by now and don’t even remember the details for it, and it wouldn’t let me play because it wasn’t the account linked to my Steam ID.
Refunded it anyway like, but wish I’d known before I spent 5 hours downloading it.

Doom takes that title for me, but TF2 is a close second.

The last Star Wars game I liked was Empire at War. There was a lot pretty solid ones around that time, though. Knights of the Old Republic, Republic Commando, Revenge of the Sith for GBA/DS, Battlefront.

Finally grabbed all the necessary materials without dying in NMS to get your ship repaired and able to leave your home planet, thanks to the melee+jump move that lets you move around much faster (i forgot about it). Without it, it's basically impossible in Permadeath mode.
Ended up going on for about 3 hours. Went to 4 planets. Made a bunch of money. Had to go to a spot on a planet that looked to be almost completely covered in water. Had to swim to a terminal on the bottom of the ocean floor for a blueprint in an ocean floor base.
Had to mine for some more minerals to complete the blue print i needed for the warp drive fuel, got it, and ran out of Plutonium. This the shit that lets you launch your craft. Has to be at 100% on Survival or Permadeath modes. I was at 91%...I needed to step out and search for some but a Sentinel followed me. Soon as I exited the ship, gunned down. 3+ hours gone
fuck man

By Hitch Go To PostIs at actually a good game at this point?
The big NEXT update on Tuesday looks promising. It's the 4th one and seems to bring it all together and closer to what the original version of the game was sold to us as, 2 years earlier. Bunch of new additions and multiplayer is now in (actual MP and not some orbs of light).
By Flutter Go To PostSo it's good Smokey?
Im probably in once they discount the game.
Same here. I cold just play my PS4 copy, but would need a new pad too. Fuck that.

I'd get it on sale . I'm just playing what's been available up to this point.
By Hitch Go To PostDoes anyone here pretend the Gamecube controller is anything more than a pile of shite?
Fite me irl.
NMS is trash, what is wrong with you people
and we started the page talking about good games, like tittyfall and doom
you ruined it

By Hitch Go To PostDoes anyone here pretend the Gamecube controller is anything more than a pile of shite?I really liked the shoulder buttons, the 8-way gate for the c-stick, and the actual analog stick. Wish it had real bumpers, two real analog sticks instead of just one and the 8-way gate for both sticks. I liked the face button layout for some games but not others.
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostYea im buying NMS tonightWhen I'm in a certain kind of mood, yeah. But I will also play just about anything that's multiplayer if I have friends to chat with while doing so.
Kib? Your kind of game?
I like most controllers. Since 2000 i would only rate 3 controllers as subpar and those are the OG Xbox Duke (way to big), the Dreamcast one (what is this thing) and the OG PS3 pad (light and flimsy).

wow
The xb1 actually has a good d-pad for the first time in that console family's history.
I still dislike the dual shock design more than any other console twin stick controller (I have not played the switch, yet). Now that XBox has a better d-pad, too, there is no reason for me to care about it.
A good pad with six large face buttons is awesome for fighting games, imo. You can still tap the face buttons like you would on a stick but use a d-pad for movement.

More modern controllers than just the Steam controller need that 'click' on their triggers, imo. Makes for solid feedback and new game mechanics for when they are fully depressed instead of just partially.
By Hitch Go To PostDoes anyone here pretend the Gamecube controller is anything more than a pile of shite?I hated it so much, entirely because of the triggers having that mound of plastic between them. It meant you couldn’t rest a knuckle on them, you had to crook your finger and press them with the tips of your fingers if you didn’t have childrens’ hands. It nearly gave me carpal tunnel.
xbox bumpers are objectively shittier design than the dual shock l1 and r1 buttons, xbone controller would be dope if they fired those shits into the sun

By Kibner Go To PostWhy would you press them with the tips of your fingers like instead of just using the body of your fingers? D:Because then I had to hold the controller really low - which made using everything else awkward - or arch my fingers out to the side. It was never comfortable. It’s the only Nintendo controller I never liked (although the joycons having no dpad feels like a personal attack).
I hated the 360 controller with a passion. Purely because the battery pack would dig into my knuckles when I held the pad.
Been meaning to get a X1 pad, but I’ve got a spare busted PS4 pad and a Steam controller, so don’t really need one.
The steam controller is fucking perfect for me when a game properly supports it. The DS4, I only use for 2D games/platformers.

Hopefully Sony acknowledges the superior analog placement for the DS5. They already did with the official SCUF controller.

Funnily enough, I used to have one, but I gave it to my brother some years ago along with my 360.
Third person shooters on keyboard and mouse don't feel right
Need an analogue stick for movement when I can actually see the character, 8-way looks and feels bad

Melee why
At least with the Wii U version you get more interesting characters.
And I know DBZ got the most players but I kinda think Tekken should’ve been 2nd last for seniority and as the lone standard bearer fo 3D fighters. But I’m sure DBZ can probably attract a wider audience that doesn’t usually watch fighting games.
