Rushed through the last two missions of Dishonored 2. Game definitely ran out of steam near the end. 22 hours in total, high chaos stealth.
I think the game should have tried to wrap up in mission 8. Might provide more thoughts later. Still a very good game, one of the strongest art directions i've seen in a game, awesome atmosphere, cool powers(hear Corvo's are better) and lovely, open level design and choice filled gameplay. Doing a domino doppleganger suicide is such a cool trick that's gonna stick with me for a minute lol.
It's kind of insane that you can beat the game in under 30 minutes doing a glitch-less speedrun.

By blackace Go To PostGreat on the PC and even better on the iPad… DLC coming soon?
Out already
Fairy Fencer is a fine JRPG
By joefu Go To PostSo Octopath getting mixed reviews. The Jason dude from kotaku hated it, but he also hated xenoblade 2, which I found to be one of the best games of last year. Might have been my favorite game in quite a while…
Think I'll take my chances with Octopath.
Dude also hyped up FF Type 0 like it was the second wind of JRPGs.
Eh, different strokes different folks
I can't stop playing Pirate Warriors 3 haha. It's a pretty great refresher on the series. There's so much stuff I forgot. Haven't read the manga in a few years. Looks like the game goes a bit passed where I stopped reading
Awesome

My memory was more in the timeframe that the game wasn't in English yet and he was the "this is a lost gem that English speakers need"......something along those lines.
Thhhhhheeeeennnnnn the patch got leaked and folks actually played the game.
The other sides translation thread for that game died with the quickness when they actually started to play it

The last mission isn't that great and the ending felt kinda rushed overall.
Did you do the Jindosh puzzle yourself?
A metacritic of 85% can't be considered as having mixed reviews.
Still as much as I love Octopath (it's pretty great) Jason Schreier has a point with his review. There really is a lack of interaction between the cast during the story scenes, with none of your party members even appearing in any of them. Dungeons are just pretty much the same thing, where while it's obviously in different settings there's nothing really special about any of them.
but it works. They have basically made a SNES RPG for the Switch, warts and all.

Which wasn't the case...drew a table on paper and everything.
I joined the AC: Origins platinum club. In the end it didn’t take as long as I thought, save file says 88:58 and I spent a lot of time wandering around, backtracking and messing around in photo mode.
It was right around the time that I got the Masai warrior ninja costume that I realized this probably topped Black Flag as my favourite one:
I’m not actually sure how Red Dead could top this scenery. I’m on a base model PS4, not even playing in 4K/HDR, and it’s frying my mind. I get why MS chose it as a showcase game for the 1X:
So yeah. Even though it did quite well this game was probably a little underhyped due to franchise fatigue, but it saved the series imo. It’s got me ready to play Odyssey like, right now.

Ys Origins is pretty great. Definitely worth the $8 it can be had on PSN Store.
Also about 8 hours into Octopath so far. Right now I have H'Annit, Ophelia, Olberic, Cyrus, and Primrose. Going for Tressa next. The battle system is pretty great and the individual character stories all seem pretty intriguing.

Smokey, you weren't lying about Gears 3 on the X. If somebody told me it was an early gen game, I'd believe it.
Also, Microsoft finally fixed the input lag on the Gears back compat games.

plus, metacritic is just a measure of hype anyway
I'm about 30 hours in AC:O . Incredible game but I have no interesting in Odyssey. Egypt...and Bayek are just so much of what I love about the game.
But bb what about actual branching dialogue and causality thrown into an Origins structure. Surely you gotta want that.

Game industry really had a chance to nip in this the bud years ago but they're a shitshow of their own making too.

By rerixo Go To Postof course it can, a score of 85 can still have plenty of varianceIt would take a hilarious split of good and bad reviews for that to happen but fine, it's possible. In this case though it isn't.

i think someone else told me that front mission 4 was worth getting too
never forgave them
reviews should always be heavy handed criticisms (and I don't mean overly negative or lying) otherwise what's the point
I'm not here to be wooed into a sale I want the fucking truth about where and when something falls short. Sure it can be subjective but a good reviewer will explain how they came to that conclusion.

like most things journo about clickbait, hot takes and controversy than just a good rundown or why something is kind of shit
My favourite is when they give games like Shadow of Mordor and MGSV 9s and 10s, then say later on that it only reviewed highly because it was a poor year.
It was a 6 or 7 even at the time you fuckwits.

Started watching this video series. Pretty good. Video series on Star Citizen and how it's turned out so far done by someone who invested over 10k into it and has also assisted the dev team with media, logistics etc.

Egypt…and Bayek are just so much of what I love about the game.Have you tried the discovery/museum mode dlc? I just finished all the trophies for it. It’s pretty interesting if you’re into the setting & history, though you need a pretty high tolerance for shit about limestone & various types of grain.
I was kind of blown away how much detail is in the setting, like down to NPCs having toothache animations because there was so much sand getting into food at the time & damaging teeth. I thought they were exaggerating a lot more of the size of the architecture & amount of statuary than they were.
By DY_nasty Go To Postinvisible inc is hard af

I still remember Austin Walker launching into a passionate 10 minute long speech in defence of this game during the Giant Bomb GOTYs and somehow getting it on there despite being the only one who even knew what it was.

Mordor, forever the WOAT GOTY mistake.
This guy on ERA got 4 X1Xs for hilariously cheap. Target glitch is amazing lol. Just saw it works on digital codes(not eshop/xbl/psn credit) so ordered a bunch of those and this was my 2nd order. I'll be damned if I don't get at least something out of this.
