I’m pretty sure there’s no game ever with better vistas than AC Origins. Every 5 minutes it’s got me stopping and saying “damn.”
What other game gives you a trophy for just stopping and meditating on top of Egyptian mountains?

By Random Ass Username Go To PostJerk off about scenery brehs. Oblivion was decent for its time. Game was still boring af.But the game itself is actually good. It reminds me a lot of a more grown up, African Breath of the Wild but with a bunch of trippy shit I won’t spoil.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostHow long did it take you?ended the game at 88 or so hours and tried to do as much as stuff as I could. Took another 8 or so hours to get the old habits trophy.
Octopath is fun. It's definitely an old school JRPG, and you know how these kind of games have a main storyline, and side stories that go more in detail about the characters? Octopath is filled with only the side stories.
So yeah, considering I usually like the side stories part more it's the kind of game that was made for people like me.
Hitch is right about the hilarious defending of the game in Resetera though. This is clearly not a game for everyone and it getting a metacritic score of 84% is surprisingly high imo.

By livefromkyoto Go To PostBut does FF XIV have flaming swords and crucifixions?Definitely yes to the former and quite possibly yes to the latter. Some of the places the story goes are wild.
Been watching Detroit, 7 or so chapters in. It is miles better than I expected. Two of the side characters so far are notably shallow, and the race allegory is heavy-handed, but I'm still much more interested in where its going than I thought I'd be.
With the caveat that I'm watching it through Youtube, it looks remarkably good. Is it an in-house engine? Faces look better than TLoU2 imo. Can't help but feel that people wanted to declare it a pile of shite well before it came out.

I finished it and I must say, it is way below Heavy Rain for me. To call the race aspect heavy handed is an understatement, it's constantly shoving it in your face and comparing android to slaves, to the point of it almost being funny. What isn't much fun however is the terrible writing all the way through and pay off that amounts to just about nothing. Looking at the stats I realize I took a somewhat different route than most, but it was very forgettable, I can barely remember what happened to the different characters here a week after completing it. There is also in the beginning waaay too much busy work. Fuck off I don't want to clean his apartment, or drive this cunt around in his wheelchair for 20 min.
It does look great though. Ranges from looking great to jaw dropping with some particular chapters being amazing. All in all I did enjoy it, but it suffers from most of the standard Cage stuff. At times it really does hit what it is going for though, even if also heavy handed, the part near the end where you are standing in line to be destroyed with the girl is quite chilling, but more often than not when they are trying to go for these things, it just feels like a cheap rip off of real life events but with androids copied in.
Bought that and God of War for around 50 euros used from some guy, and I think 25 euros is a decent price for it. Certainly wouldn't pay much more.
God of War I have yet to get very far into. Can't stand that kid.

Yeah in general there's way too much stuff missing in between to make a real compelling storyline.
Think splitting it up with 3 different characters really hurt the overall plot, as they had to establish every character and storyline that connects in the end.
Wasn't a fan of the Kara story in any way and it was easily the weakest of all 3. Either a more focused story of both Marcus and Connor or just the focus on Connor or Marcus would have been more interesting.
Splitting it up worked better for Heavy Rain, as the scope on the murder case was far smaller and the connection between the characters worked alot better.
That just didn't work out that well in Detroit.

I must be the only one that disliked Connor. Such an annoying guy.
Speaking of Connor, I had that drunken police lad shoot Connor in the head during a heated argument, I thought he was like fully out of the game there. But nope, just shows up having been repaired like nothing happened next chapter.
However not long after, the police lad then makes a huge deal out of Connors decision in my game, to shoot another android in the head at that Android creators house…. Like…. There was no consequences or anything last time, why are you upset at this one random android getting shot then?

I'm afraid The Gamers are at it once again, in what PR specialists would describe as a 'publicity mis-step'.
the fuck did they do to the no doubt HR camera in The Show 18? It's the same camera for RTTS, they don't even zoom in on your player lmao
You know the Black Mirror episode where robot bees decimated millions of trolls across the UK.
All I could think of while watching that is feeling that they probably deserved it.

By DY_nasty Go To Postlol everyone learns eventuallyI'm really getting tired of almost being home free and running into a BS patrol near the end (VIP rescue mission of scientist). Look, I'm no stranger to the genre after playing other RTS squad games like Valkyria Chronicles and stunting on that. But Xcom 2.... can you give me a break for a second? I know I'm going 1 Vet and 3 Rookies and I'm playing on Default but seriously can you not do that shit to me?
I think I need to start going 2:2 after this one.

yes lad. Get's a bit too repetitive though, but i still managed to complete a playthrough. You still playing Dota?
Yeah been on it much more since the battle pass came out
Kinda glad the stress mechanic is there as it's forcing me to use the different classes
Done about 6 dungeons now, starting to get through the short ones without much fuss
That caretaker is a right cunt. Get the fuck out of my abbey.

Yeh the stress mechanic really pushes you into using classes and compositions you wouldn't otherwise think of. Good stuff.

A typo found in the INI file of Aliens: Colonial Marines appears to be one of the major causes for terrible AI mechanics in the game. Thankfully typo's are easy to fix!

laughed out loud. There's a reddit post too where the dev is like "yeh working as intended haha great!"
Well that made my day might take a look too. Less little edgelords being shitheels in my games the better.
