Cosmetic damage isn't enough. Having that feedback is really important for getting better and learning how to properly race. GT has always felt like bumper cars compared to Forza to me because of the lack of a real damage model.
By MonadL Go To PostFinished Hollow Knight. Yeah that needed to be about 10-15 hours shorter. Fun game though.
Did you fight Nightmare King Grimm and get the true ending?!
By rodeoclown Go To PostCosmetic damage isn't enough. Having that feedback is really important for getting better and learning how to properly race. But that’s just it - it absolutely doesn’t make people do that. Even in high level play people drive like complete assholes in Forza. This is the actual sponsored world championship and these guys are just running each other off the road:
Down in the ranks, this seems to happen a lot more:
Same youtuber as above, here’s what high level GT Sport looks like:
See how everyone works to avoid contact even in tight crowded corners; just a tap gives you a 1-1.5 second penalty. The threat of losing position seems to be a more effective motivator to drive properly than anything.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s some very cool stuff that Forza does - just having feedback in the triggers to feel what the tires are doing is big. But driving etiquette and getting players not to do stuff that would get them banned from a real race doesn’t seem to be among it yet.
By Kuma Go To PostDid you fight Nightmare King Grimm and get the true ending?!That was a fun boss. Took me a while though lol
Seems that whoever was on the Treehouse and said there's an overarching story/chapter/plot convergence in Octopath was chatting shit.
Ah well. Will buy if there's an option to turn off random battles for when I just want to look for chests and new areas.

Wonder if the GT Sport way of doing things will be pulled into GT7 as a kind of ranked mode. Did they fix the inconsistencies with being ghosted and punished for other people's errors that were present at launch? Or did it eventually naturally level out so bad drivers would be stuck with other bad drivers and it becomes a non-issue, like people(Facism¬¬) being stuck in Low Priority Queue in Dota.

The system isn't perfect and Polyphony is at least trying to make it 'friendlier'

For the sake of science, I have been playing Gears of War and have come up with my definitive ranking.
3 > 4 > 1 > 2
3 > 4 > 1 > 2
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostI actually think back pretty fondly on 2's campaign, but MP was trashCertain technical aspects of Gears 2 have aged really badly and make it look totally flat. It mostly lacks shadows and lighting and is the epitome of the grays and browns color scheme everybody made fun of, so the effect is that it's totally drab.
The first couple acts are dope, though, like the vehicle sections on ice and the part where you're defending the drilling rigs.
Those ArenaNet sackings really have given The Gamers some real energy to be extra shitty little fucking cunts.

Please. I'm not in low priority.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postdid you beat dishonored yet psyNah, been busy. I probably spent 2+ hours in mission 7.
The only negative I really have is how weakly the narrative is presented, there seems like an interesting plot there but I don't care for reading all the lore items and the mediocore painted cutscenes are boring.
I still haven't touched Corvo's campaign yet and I'm 16+ hours in.
Is Death of The Outsider any good? I might buy it before this PSN sale is over.
The Octopath preview thread in Resetera is incredible.
There's already meltdowns before reviews have been posted. Even Jason Schreier seems a peeved by them.

I've played plenty of RPGs that start off strong only to shit the bed 20 hours in.

Over reacted with what exactly? Defending the guy who tweeted to her at first =/= defending the known harassment.
What the developer did was wrong. I didn't see anything wrong with the opinion that guy had.
What Arenanet did however, was the dumbest fucking thing a developer could do in a post gamergate world.

Yeah...
The way she reacted was wrong.
The way her employer reacted was heavy handed.
The way these losers are launching a bot-driven “no girls in the clubhouse” campaign is worse than any of that.

It’s been a long time since the original announcement, but finally, we have managed to get a very small taste of Cyberpunk 2077 earlier this month during the E3. While things are definitely moving along, it seems like the game is still quite far from release. The ol Star citizen
As reported by Polish website Bankier, CDRP Adam Kicinski recently spoke about Cyberpunk 2077, confirming that the reason why the game was shown behind closed doors is that it’s still in pre-alpha stage and its quality far from being the one that will be seen in the final release.

That’s like the 7th highest form of fiction writing, nobody on the outside could ever crack that code.
ArenaNet's 100% in the wrong. If you think gaming is your lifestyle or identity, it's not Price's problem that you don't know how to develop emotionally as an adult.

Damn
By DY_nasty Go To Postwait someone got fired over that?Think of how many corporations you can stay employed at if you try public takedowns of partners/customers on social media. Especially when you’re in the wrong.
Now imagine you’re a non-name writer in the gaming industry- ie., just about the most replaceable resource on earth in a job in a super competitive industry with a trillion people lined up to take your place.
Like I said, it was heavy handed of them, but there’s nothing wildly out of the ordinary about it.
how thin is that ice?
i mean.... i'm not exactly up on the situation but that's a far cry from throwing white supremacist designs onto items in a AAA game

By DY_nasty Go To Posthow thin is that ice?Too thin. I wouldn’t have done it. But the corporate world is run by dicks who see employees as far more replaceable than customers and tend to act accordingly.

Maybe there was sexism on management’s part involved too, I don’t know. I just know a bank or insurance company or IT corp wouldn’t have reacted much differently with a contract employee in a role with surplus talent on the job market.
didn't they fire another guy too?
guess im just pro-working environments that actually defend their employees a bit

is there a AAA game on pc that doesn't have dedis other than D2? Serious question I don't even keep track anymore.
By DY_nasty Go To Posthow thin is that ice?Shitting on customers is one of the few things the industry seems to take a hard stance on. I remember when Adam Orth got cut loose for shitting on rural people's internet connections lmao.
