By Smoke Dogg Go To PostAll I remember about Lawbreakers is that the game was so self-published, the Bleszinski guy even had to go on PlayStation Blog to promote it."None of this $60, multiplayer only bullshit"
Imagine self-owning yourself like that.
Or how a beta 3 weeks before launch isn’t a beta.
Anyway go download our beta 3 weeks before the game launches

Neversoft were great. And that's a great, great game. Tons of fun boss battles and the ways they kept the gameplay fresh throughout was really clever. All the camera tricks they used. Just brilliant stuff.
Crazy to think that same engine led them to Tony Hawk which is another masterpiece of that era. Both of those games had wonderful magazine demos that I'm sure we all 100% paid for at the market or magazine stand. 🤐

Glad they switched engines. Looks visually so much better than JC3. Hope it runs well. The new grapple tech looks fun.

2018 Quantum Break sounds good now huh
I looked at GAF today. Wow, that site is done. It’s E3 and like the only threads that have more than two pages are Cyberpunk and the one with them arguing about whether there should be so many girls in games.

$65 (after tax) for a game in 2018? That's a no go for me.
$715 for those titles MSRP
$517 GCU - 110 in certs = $407
Not buying all those but just using the entire group for convenience.
Yeh that's substantial enough to go ahead and do 2 day shipping and let it get dropped off at the house. Trade it back to Best Buy within 2 weeks and you've made money.

Privileged Houstonian with space in your house
I barely have room to even put them anywhere. I had to throw all my Blu-ray in storage to make room for my 4K movies
I don’t like trading games in anymore.

By Kuma Go To PostI am surprise Remedy is not a Microsoft first party studioTheir games take a lot of time, cost a lot of money, and while Alan Wake and Quantum Break both reviewed decently well, they only sold okay.
I'd go for a Quantum Break 2 with more interesting combat and no TV show parts, though.
Thought quantum break flopped in both regards
Is Control part of the same universe? Me and my brother both thought it was a weird announcement for QB2 before the name came up.

We got plenty of space down here pleighboi. Come on down.
Days Gone was just on Sony's stage again. The fucking combat looks ass. Amateur hour over there at Bend.
The first party bar for third-person over-the-shoulder shooting combat has been set by The Last of Us last gen. You have to at least match that level or start over imo. The guns felt weighty and blasting a hole in someone's head looked right. Days Gone seems to be missing both. They need to put out a tiny demo to convince me.

I don't love it and didn't finish it until the X enhancement patch came out. The TV show just destroys the pacing.

Feeling like Bend are pulling a Ready at Dawn
Given their big chance to make a proper AAA game being pushed by Sony, and blowing it.
Hope they don't get sunsetted if it bombs, wouldn't be too surprised though.

Making a big open world game as your first venture into the AAA space takes some balls. Hope it doesn't end up backfiring.
By etc Go To PostFeeling like Bend are pulling a Ready at DawnSurprisingly, it's killing it outside of the hardcore gamer bubble. The Days Gone videos are Gameinformer's most watched content in their history. I think it'll perform well enough as Bend isn't a large studio and only 250(including outsourcing) are working on it so the budget probably isn't crazy.

It could still end up a very good game but with shit combat. That's very possible. The batvision and other second hand gimmicks are not helping though.
And for some reason the weapons sticking to the leads back bother me more than it should. He's places a bat and shotgun on his jean jacket and they're just...there.

Roadmap to #2020 is set.
77" OLED + PS5 + XB2. I'm guessing around $6000 for all of that. 27 - 28 months until launch (guessing Sept/Oct). $222 a month to stash away. EZ.

If Bend are able to write characters half as interesting and provide an open world a quarter of the size as CDPR, then I would consider that a massive accomplishment and success given what we already have seen.
Shocking News: State of Decay 3 in development.
"In the case of Undead Labs, we absolutely want to go make State of Decay 3. That is a clear goal. That studio will have some other incubation, they'll work on some things, but this is a State of Decay 3 team."

I watched the Days Gone thing...aside from the guy playing the demo not being able to actually play it, I thought it looked fine. I’m not sure why you guys are being so harsh on it.

Days Gone either a game that dont demo well or is complete trash. If this shit bombs Bend is getting sent to the shadow realm unfortunately.
Days Gone strikes me as one of those games like Wildlands where all the nerds on the internet gonna be like 'this trash. no one like this shit'
then it's going to sell stupid ridiculous numbers with everyone else and people on the internet still will somehow think it was a flop

Who owns the Mercenaries ip now? That was a game ahead of its time and didn't have the hardware to support Pandemic's vision. That concept would do pretty well today if someone were to revisit it.
I’m probably not even going to buy it, but I still don’t get the harsh criticism. You ride around, blow up zombies with all kinds of strategic options, and all that emergent gaming the internet loves (remember when setting grass on fire in Zelda then blowing it with wind redefined the experience of being human last year?). It’s open world so you know it’s a real video game and not a crummy fake one with levels. And the visuals look solid.
Is it just the shooting not having the right weight?

My 65" OLED is dope, but by that time Variable Refresh Rate will be prevalent. HDMI 2.1. 77" is the next step up from 65" in OLED world.
