By Wahabipapangus Go To PostI quite liked Metro, but Stalker went for something far more ambitious, and failed at a lot of it, but was also cool for it. Janky ass game, but pretty damn big open world, where you can approach everything the way you want, and there was quite a lot to approach, with eco systems with cool ai systems and so on in place. while having some themes in common with Metro, playing them is quite different. STALKER feels way more like a game about exploring. My take as well.
Alot of goodwill towards some elements that weren't implemented well, but the idea was already good.
The new one has to deliever alot more though.
By Laboured Go To PostWeird question but can anyone link me to any Divinity 2 vids that would convince me, a True Computer Game Player, of its brilliance?
Wait until august for the Definitive Edition and likely discount.
By Mister0079 Go To Postnow all I need is VTMB 2 plsIf the new White Wolf has a large amount of control with the story and setting and such, you don't want this.
Started Boi Of War. Omg...
The combat system shows some issues, when these Devil May Cry ass enemies pop up. It's really not great that you can lose track of goons, right in front of you, due to snow or some ish. Even though the game sucks, Resident Evil 6 already has the best of this type of combat and that's never an issue. Hell, not even in Raid mode in Rev 2.
That said, this shit is crazy. I can't believe that they made Kratos interesting. I'm having a lot of fun.

why's that? I don't follow the tabletop games
By Mister0079 Go To Postwhy's that? I don't follow the tabletop gamesThe company is currently being led by a guy who wrote this and inserted it into the first book they published after Paradox bought White Wolf from CCP (spoilered because it's not mind safe):
"Screaming in lust from the concentrated spunk in my groins-blood, the Akalia started to wriggle out of its dirty jeans, still gagging on my bleeding junk. It let go only to suck in air, preparing to turn its centuries-dormant sexual organs into full ass-rape stiffness."
BTW, that book was a reprint of a book collection edited by a convicted pedophile, and not only did they not include any disclaimer or apology to his victims they made his name more prominent on the cover and added the story the quote above came from to it.
He also hired a known serial harasser and stood by him as his victims and people associated with them complained. This harasser then inserted a character into the first game that nu-WW made (a mobile CYA thing) that was a stand-in for someone he previously harassed and made them vile and preyed on vicious and untrue trans-person stereotypes.
The playtest for the recent new edition of Vampire: The Masquerade includes mechanics for Brujah being hyperbolically offended or as the text calls it "triggered" and presents an active pedophile as one of the playtest scenario player characters. And the PC gets additional powers from preying on children that they wouldn't from adults. Oh, and this PC is a Muslim immigrant and primarily feeds on people who escaped from ISIS.
Wants to bring back "World of Darkness: Gypsies" and use all the stereotypes and stigmas therein with no modern take on it.
Oversees LARPs for the game and doesn't take seriously issues of consent and sexual harassment.
They also are adding in a lot of transphobic stuff in to a Werewolf 20th anniversary book that didn't exist before.
There is a bunch more, but this is just what I recall off the top of my head and I don't want to dive deep for more.
Onyx Path is a tabletop publishing company licenses the "World of Darkness" setting from White Wolf, but is not involved in any of the above. They have their own line of games using that license called "Chronicles of Darkness" that is pretty good, with the exception of "Beast: The Primordial."
I hate to say it but Crew 2 looks exactly like the game i have been longing for. Never thought Ubi would get me again. I feel dirty now.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostToday Kibner taught me that “Evil LARPer” is a real life villain archetype. They have LARP events at old European castles that are for adults only and warn that real-life sex is an approved in-character activity. Hence, not taking seriously complains of consent and harassment being an even bigger deal than normal.

yikes.
thanks for the info.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostToday Kibner taught me that “Evil LARPer” is a real life villain archetype.Oh, I forgot to mention an interesting tidbit: the guy leading nuWW is named "Martin Ericsson" but fans of the WoD call him Swedracula because he is Swedish and a picture of him in his LARP gear (he is an avid player and this is ostensibly the reason why he convinced Paradox to buy the property from CCP) was used on the cover of one of the WoD books to portray Dracula:

You can play the game however you want. The game is super hard, but you can cheese your way to victory.
By Facism Go To Postthat's a great post, kibbles.Thanks. I'm invested into tabletop rpg's despite the majority of friends I played with irl having moved multiple hours/days away.

By DY_nasty Go To Postall the stories suck tbhAt least it had a good ending, although there was a moment early on that left me cursing for weeks on how badly they handled the story.
ff15 tho? i mean….. scust
It's 5th because I had a lot of fun playing it.
I can’t get past the part in FF VIII where it looks like eye sandpaper and the battle system is nonsense.
By Facism Go To PostI'd love FF9 if the combat wasn't so slow.Once the PSN version on PS4 is a bit cheaper, I'm gonna give it a go.
Those added speed options are just necessary with that title. Was already a blessing for 7.
