I never played tropical freeze. I didn't do too much gaming in 2014 (moving, baby) and by the time I had the free time to play anything Mario maker had me all 2d platformered out. I guess I'm in for a treat.
My friends were pretty happy tonight. They finally beat me at FIFA 18 after a France x India when I was pretty drunk. Still, it was pretty funny to force my friend to penalities when I was playing as India and was holding my controller with one hand and my fifth whiskey cola on the other.

Persona 5 is absolutely amazing to look at - but god damn that pacing is horrendous. If you can get it cheap, sure, but know that its a 80 hour game with 30+ of that being bloated as hell. P5R should be announced some time relatively soonish I guess.

Haven't played P5. Nier is really padded out by making you repeat much of the game (seriously, what kind of asshole would have complained if the game was "just" 40 hours?), but I'm most of the way through and haven't gotten bored (thanks, Platinum), so it's kind of not a thing. The unorthodox way the narrative is presented is the best I've seen in a jrpg since I don't remember when. And it does a really good job of drawing out emotions in a story entirely about robots & cyborgs; the soundtrack is pretty amazing and central to that. Unless it utterly fumbles the back part of the game, it's definitely the best jrpg I've played this generation.

Well I remember getting some Gin Tonics at a club in Crete, made by a drunk bartender. That shit was 80/20, it wasn't pretty. There's like this line that if you cross it a drink just isn't nice to have anymore. Then you'd be better off doing a couple of tequila shots and just get shitfaced.
30+ hours for just the campaign of a game is long by the way. Though to be fair, I think I clock 30+ hours on every sandbox game I start so I suppose I'm fine with it.

If you like Persona games you'll also gonna love 5. The long playtime is an issue with every title in the series, if that's something that will put you off, you shouldn't play it.
Gameplay got some really good additions and is far better than 3/4. Same can be said about the dungeons that are finally not just some endless floors.
Design/style and OST is my favorite in the series. While I like the characters from 4 a bit more, I still really liked the characters of 5. Just found the balance of 4 better.
Haven't played Nier properly yet. Got a copy from a friend and played it a bit, but wasn't in the mood. So had no intention to force myself to play further. Will start it this year.
The thing with Persona 5 is even if you like it you know they're going to be coming out with an upgraded version in a year or two.

I have it on pc, but not sure I can get back into it. I've tried a couple times and kept falling asleep while doing multiplayer missions.
