I remember when Obama was elected, I think people on a whole were able to move on and forget that George W. Bush ever existed. Like, it was good riddance and easily wiped from memory, because there was still a chance for return to normalcy; even George W. Bush had his limits. Obama's election felt like there would be a return to progress and we could all just maybe get along again.

But in stark contrast to all that, America turned around and elected Trump instead. I'm too old for rose-tinted glasses now. I will never forget that this country elected Trump, no matter who they elect afterwards. Jesus Christ himself could resurrect and get elected, and I'd still be too skeptical of fellow man, fellow countrymen, fellow all these fucks.

A.) I'm too petty.
B.) I've lost all respect for America.
C.) There is no government anymore; there is only private enterprise.
D.) There is only how much time you have left with your freedom outside of the industrial prison complex to make money and gtfo.
E.) All of the above.

Fuck America. Fuck the whole institution. It let itself down, and the faith in its people is forever crushed, and will never be restored. I'm only out for myself now, and can't wait to ditch all you losers who post on messageboards like it's a free psych session.

Realistically, this is just an effort to deflect blame when / if the shutdown happens. He's trying to place blame on the Dems for shutting down the government, but a week ago he took all the blame and two days ago agreed to sign the CR. If McConnell doesn't lift the filibuster, which he won't because he's not stupid, he can also load blame off on congressional republicans. He'll paint them as weak and his base will eat it up. He could potentially sign the CR after doing this with McConnell, and still lay the blame on them too. "I'm keeping the government open, but only because Mitch is too weak to do anything!" He may even win Coulter over with that move.
