That is why. I’m sick and tired of men being portrayed as idiots.

They are mad about Poe’s character? Whatever. The whole point is for him to learn about shit so that his character actually develops and it makes sense when he is eventually the leader of the resistance once Leia dies/disappears/whatever the hell they do with her.

The Onion threw in the towel. It can't compete with 2017 America.
By FlutterPuffs Go To PostI get it that there are people who dislike what they did to the old characters. I can accept and understand the differing opinions even though they're wrong and for fuck's sake, were Han and Luke your dads? Is this why it hurt you that they are suffering? Do you realise that while criticising Rey to be a Mary Sue you are also ACTIVELY criticising the movie for not making Luke one?I actually understand that complaint. Star Wars always had that humor, but I felt like it was present more often in this new film which made it feel more like a Marvel film.
The most I can't stand are people who claim that the movie is disney-fied and full of Marvel-esque humor. What fucking rock have you been hiding under? Do you realise that those jokes don't originate from Marvel films? Do you understand that what the movie did was just modernized the humor in Star Wars rather than going for slapstick actions and witty dialogue that were already dated in the 80s?
I generally liked the movie though and was puzzled at all the rage I read online prior to watching it.
Watched it.
Meeehhhhhh
Any scene not involving Kylo Ren was boring as fuck. better than tfa of course, 5/10 movie.

thought on it
i'd actually say easily the best star wars movie now
even with the cheese
if leia is cg jedi gawd in ep nien then fuck it, its what god intended
also, regarding mad nerds how on earth can you be mad at luke's send off? that was absolutely the best thing you could've ever hoped for. he projects across the universe, fools an entire army, two gawds in kylo and leia, and he does it in a way that sums up everything from before as well as how everyone will move forward. people really wanted luke to hop out of that old x wing and reflect at at shots - they really don't get that they are those same kids playing with action figures at the end
salt.

By diehard Go To Postthis better than Empire, DY? That's crazier than saying the Clippers were going to the Finals.empire was great in that made star wars a franchise. tlj is great because it saved star wars from turning into harry potter
By diehard Go To Postyou're all insaneIf this came out 40 years ago when there was no internet and 10000000X less media then yeah.
nobody is going to be quoting this in 40 years
All star wars movies are mediocre once you take the fanboy glasses off.
By diehard Go To Postpsy's that type of dude arguing that "Tupac isn't actually all that great by today's standards"naw that's me tbh
watched it earlier today
it was a fun watch
surprisingly good looking
only lame thing was when leia flew across the screen
i kinda wanna rewatch it actually, never felt that way about a star wars film before
also kylo didn't kill all of the jedi kids, was this mentioned before, i guess we'll see them next ep

the hate for real development on characters combined with their fantasy wishlist is legit awe inspiring. i've seen it on a small scale often times with all sorts of projects that pick up any kind of momentum, but here? its like watching a natural disaster. a tidal wave of salty tears
thread is going to be spoilers open in a few more days, i'm really looking forward to copying and pasting a lot of the dumb takes i've seen about this movie in the coming weeks
hating on this movie is living on the wrong side of history

Can we talk about how great Domhnall Gleeson is as Hux? What a chameleon that guy is. I don't even recognize him as the same actor in Ex Machina.

This is why we can't have nice things.
It's a good movie it's just a plus that it's a Star Wars movie.

By reilo Go To PostCan we talk about how great Domhnall Gleeson is as Hux? What a chameleon that guy is. I don't even recognize him as the same actor in Ex Machina. The best part was when Kylo was down and you saw him briefly reaching for his blaster until he rose up and then promptly salute him.
So many subtle takes and moments.
Watched it again last night in IMAX.
Both this movie and the force awakens don't get enough credit to how they show the inner working of a fascist regime and how it sucks in insecure young dweebs . For a fun blockbuster space wizards movies , they are both better written then how given credit for .
By reilo Go To PostAlso shoutout to Serkis for channeling his inner Christopher Lee.
Good sign that I had to check whether it was him, which I usually don't.
