By Kibner Go To PostI ended up going with my credit union for financing since they offered better rates. Shop around for that. Ask your potential creditors how rates change depending on deposit amount.
As a general rule, you don't want your monthly note to be more than 20% of your monthly net income.
I also hear to limit it to 35% of your annual salary. Or the 20/4/10 rule. 20% down, 4 years finance, payment 10% of gross monthly salary, but that 10% should also include insurance.
I've definitely broken the 4 year finance on my Honda and BMW (5 years), but will definitely stay at 4 or even 3 next time if I can do it.
Cant remember.
I've never put 20% down, but I've heard that for awhile now.
Something something if you cant put 20% down you shouldn't be buying that car 🤷♂️
I didn't put shit down for my BMW lol. I was a young buck

Man people like Dave Ramsey been telling people to purchase homes with cash for two decades now 😂
Guys like him got some sound-ish ideas (snowball effect, etc) but this idea that you gotta save up stacks of cash before making any big purchases is asinine.
I can't even imagine someone middle class having $3-4k lying around to purchase a $15-20k new car (about the range of an entry-level nowadays) when their livelihood depends on it.
I guess always buy a heapbucket used for $10k or less? Even then, 20% down on $10k is $2k. It's not that easy for those not making a whole lot and need something to commute to work when public transit is such a giant piece of shit in the US.

Yea, that, too. I imagine a $25-30k downpayment for a $150k (very nice) home in certain cities/towns/states makes sense. But in most big metro areas? Hahaha. Yea, let me pull out six figures and then some just for the downpayment and demand to have good financing options over 30 years.
I mean just from an affordability stance, 35% of ones yearly household income on a car can be a lot of a little depending on how much rent / mortgage / expenses are. My wife and I could afford some very very nice vehicles if we sent our kids to adoption, sold our house and downsized to a 1 bedroom loft to rent.
Someone making $20k after tax ... 35% would amount for ~$500/mo in car payments at that figure. Kinda silly. Noone is doing that, at least they should not.
I get the idea, but realistically, yeah. Not possible for most people.

Hey fam. Don't put that kinda dough out and up front. Line your pockets, enjoy the cushion. If you car is gone, your money is too. Insurance won't always payout for your car what it's actually worth. A lot of times they do, but there are also times they don't. It's okay to put some money down, but 20% sounds a bit much.
I personally don't like to buyout cars because they depreciate. I roll with the depreciation and make payments. If I sense the depreciation is getting worse, I bail out. So far, only 1 car has ever surprised me with its lack of depreciation and that was my 370Z (this is also well documented that they oddly hold their value).
Anyway, keep the money in your pocket and pay as you go on cars. A house, I'm 100% all for paying off ASAP (especially if you live in a growing area that's more and more expensive). I put $100K down on my house, and I pay extra every month to get the principle lower and lower quicker. Sometimes, I wanna just throw a bunch of money at that principle and pay it off in a few years instead.
By Fenderputty Go To PostI'm contemplating it in the same way I contemplate fucking ava Addams while watching porn.
...
She's 100% flames.
Average yearly salary in Texas is $60K... 20% of that is $12K... who the fuck is gonna put $12,000 for a downpayment??
Assuming you literally have no expenses, bills, whatever, you'd still need 3 months to save up $12K(around $4K take home per month after taxes, etc).
That's asinine.

20% of the car MSRP, not your salary. Max monthly payment is supposed to be 35% of your gross monthly salary.
35% of monthly salary seem insane. Like how fucking cheap is your rent / mortgage if you're able to do that?
By Fenderputty Go To Post35% of monthly salary seem insane. Like how fucking cheap is your rent / mortgage if you're able to do that? That max figure comes from if your job highly benefits from having a fancy car. The recommendation for average people is 10-15%, iirc. Above that is for enthusiast or job-related reasons.
20% of the cars MSRP makes better sense lol.
But also, you're telling me all I need is to save $12K for a downpayment on the new Corvette? Screw buying a house, I'd rather get a Corvette!
I'm joking of course lol.
Must be kids from UT Dallas.

What part did you not understand? Israeli's are really proud, especially to call out that kind of attention to a 300K Lambo. Too much pride isn't a good thing. Let's not get that twisted, either btw.

oh i thought you meant another people from the way you worded your post :p
My ancestors had this as their flag 700 years ago
It's not just that 1 holiday special (Seamen)? I thought the full season doesn't start until next year?
BMW has received “very positive” feedback to its radical shift in styling for certain models including the X7, according to product boss Peter Henrich.
Henrich told Autocar that he was “convinced” this bold styling direction under design boss Adrian van Hooydonk was the right way to go, and that customer data showed it was being well received.
"This is crucial for success. BMW customers are demanding. They want to express something, and are not afraid of vehicles with strong characters. They are looking for it. So, we have decided to focus even more on strong characters and bold designs," explained Peter Henrich, BMW's senior vice president of product management, in an interview with British magazine Autocar. He must be talking about the Asian market because, brother, no
If you translate the "hooy" in Hooydonk in Russian it means: "dick"
Therefore, I cannot take this man seriously. You are no Ian Callum. Good day, sir.

Getting my Cayman serviced at the dealership is a whole other (and much more pleasant) world compared to getting my Sonata and Civic serviced at their respective dealerships. wow
Yo, cars are weird. After I had the wheels swapped out, the tire pressure system started giving me faults. We scanned the system, and 2 rear monitors apparently decided to give out. So we ordered a new set of monitors. I go to my shop, as I'm approaching the street...the faults all disappear.
WTF M8!? Replacing them either way, just because once these things start, they usually come back anyway. Also dealing with a slow leak from a tire, but I don't see a nail anywhere and suspect it's a valve stem.

I had that happen to mine as well, thought I blew a tire, the TPS reactivated on its own and the error went away, and never saw it again.

Fake news. Nissans frequently had TPMS issues too. Hell, most TPMS systems are built by like the same 3 brands anyway. So this isn't OEM specific. They're also battery powered, and will likely start to die out after a certain age.
In any case, it's probably likely that the old TPMS started "faulting" because it was in an adapting phase after they were swapped over to the new rims. Once the new units were installed they also triggered the fault.
I drove 30 miles today, had a few start/stop cycles. And the lights went away and everything learned.
Also, might be buying a brand new Aston Martin Vantage in 2020.
Can't say no to the deal I was offered today.

I want a 4x4 E350, saw one and I didn't know I wanted one till I saw it.
Been looking on Iaa and craigslist for an 09 in crappy condition to convert to 4x4.

Thought it was a MAF sensor problem so I cleaned the MAF and did the ECU reset cycle. Turns out it was a fuel pump issue.

The fact that he has to make a video about this is kinda sad lol.
He's not wrong though. GM is waaaaaay out of touch with reality... I get weekly emails from BMWNA saying to keep pushing video content instead of photos on social media. And BMW is also still selling like hotcakes so uh... 🤷♂️
I've stopped watching Doug Demuro for a while now. The corn and cheese is grating at this point. All his shit is the same, and the substance is so lackluster.
Also, his fake excitement and laugh when accelerating in fast cars irks me. Every time it was the same reaction.
