The type of Whiskey you mix with coke isn't the type you should be drinking straight anyway. Even then ... drink what you like how you like it.
To cap off Easter Sunday, I'm having a dram of Bowmore 15 Darkest Cherry Cask Finished that I picked up as part of a set of 3 200ml. The others being the 12 and the 18.
Islays are without a doubt my favourite type of scotch. Love me so peat.
This tastes quite like a peaty Mcallan

Yeah, i'm more partial to the Islays than anything else too. Love something with a Cherry Cask finish too. Great slow drinker.
Korea has plum wine, drank it once and chucked up straight away. Was absolutely rancid. Never touching anything plum based again.

What that any good. I would buy it for the label alone.
Drank a bottle of Dom Perignon yesterday and a dram of Yamazaki 18.
Had an Octomore 07.1, Arbelour abundah(not sure what batch) and a Glen Spey 22y.o 1991 bottled by Blackadder Raw Cask.
Only one I hadn’t had before was the Glen Spey. I enjoyed it.
Also tried out a couple of new cigars. A Trinidad Coloniales yeaterday, and a RyJ Capuletos LE 16. Was really impressed with the Trinidad, my first time trying them out and it was a good smoke.

Drank some new whiskys yeaterday.
Fuji-Sanroku 18 y.o small batch.
Arberg Corryvreckan
Bruichladdich The Laddie sixteen
Kilchoman 2009 vintage
Also had another Yamazaki 18, sadly the Hakusho 18, or however you spell it, was sold out.
The Scotch were all from Islay, but the Laddie was unpeated, so was nice to try something different from their. Also had never heard of Kilchoman before and read that they are the youngest, and first new distillery on the island for like 120 years.
Picked up a bottle of Nikkia Coffee Grain that I looking forward to opening.

Anyone tried the Zacapa 23 rum?
I was in a cigar the Sunday night and I asked the bartender to recommend me a whisky after my first and he said how about a rum and then gave me it.
I haven't drunk rum in maybe 11 years. This was really good IMO. Very flavourful, and reminded me of the first time I tried single malt. Showed me rum good be so much more than I have been use to.

My go to right now:
1 shot of Cruzan 151
1 shot of cheap tequila bottom shelf
1 shot of cheap vodka
1 shot of Hennessy
1 shot of navy strength gin
1 tbsp of cinnamon
Toss all this into an Oster 1200 with ice and count it as one shot.

Bought a bottle of Laphroiag Brodir on Thursday. Most expensive bottle I have purchased so far in Korea. I am a big fan of Lap, especially the Quarter Cask, so this in a Port Wood cask was something else in terms of color and taste. Really glad I bought this bottle and hope to enjoy it some more on the cold winter nights.
Also stopped in at a cocktail I discovered. Bartender was really friendly, which I feel was because he is up an award and wanted me to vote for him
This is what I voted for. Watching him make it was cool and he said the inspiration was pretty much chucking every flavour in. I am not sure everything he added, but it really was nice. Plus eating some proscuitto was an unexpected bonus.
I had about four different cocktails there, plus we did a Jack Rose shot together. Then when I was leaving he made a special Arbelour a'bunadh shot cocktail for me, as I mentioned it was one of my favourites. Was batch 60 and was at 60%. Tasted so goog, but fucked my up for the next day.
Gonna go back there as there were some whisky by the glass I had not seen before in Korea, so need to try out.

By reilo Go To PostGlenfiddich Fire & Cane is some good shit.
How did you get that, a quick look on a couple sites and it is not available yet.
Also see that they have an IPA cask in that experimental series.
I haven't drank too many Glenfiddichs, but I think I might have to try and get a bottle of that.
I bought some ice wine recently, anyone tried it? I’m not a heavy drinker (me + alcohol don’t mix) but it was locally produced and I couldn’t resist the urge.

Never tried it, sounds pretty cool from a quick glance at the wikipedia page. Please let me know how it tastes if you ever get around the opening it.

Though I should specify these particular wines were made using heritage apples and wild rosehips rather than grapes.
This weekend? It was all about wine.
Cracked open the Artesa Single Vineyard 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon. I had a taste of it when I visited the winery a few weeks ago and picked up a bottle. $90 but incredible.

I think I discovered my new favourite beer this weekend and it's from a local brewery nonetheless!
Goliath Beer mm, at 6 degrees it's not the strongest of the bunch but it has a nice full taste with some fresh aftertones which makes you keep going back for more.
