Smoke Dogg, here's a sometimes NBA related Twitter account you may enjoy: https://mobile.twitter.com/mixedforestzone
The blog is almost always NBA related, iirc: https://66thtake.wordpress.com/blog/
E: I still can't figure how much, if any, of that is tongue-in-cheek.

Whether it was this summer’s unprecedented player movement or the NBA’s abundance of intriguing story lines, the league's television ratings are up substantially from last season.
Between ESPN, TNT and NBA TV, the league’s viewership is up 32% this season and averaging 1.4 million viewers according to Nielsen, the highest start to the season since the 2010-2011 campaign. That was also LeBron James’ first year in Miami.
Last week’s Golden State Warriors vs. Oklahoma City Thunder game was ESPN's most watched regular season game (3.2 million) since Christmas of 2016. TNT’s opening night broadcast between the Cleveland Cavs and Boston Celtics, while ultimately marred by Gordon Hayward’s injury, was still the second-most watched season-opening telecast in the network’s history with an average of 5.6 million viewers.

Buy my $500 shoes, y'all.
In the modern era, no player who has received enough time to take 500+ FGA has ever posted a TS% below Mark Macon's .415. Lonzo Ball is on pace to take 800+, and his TS% currently sits at .383.
He's also on track to post the worst 3PT% on high volume (300+ attempts), pushing Antoine Walker out of the record book.

An already existing Laker policy is now being enforced, probably because of reasons related to the previous few posts in this thread:

Saw a thread over at CF where Stephen A said deandre Jordan wants to go Houston? Even if that were the case, Capela actually makes FTs, probably one of the best pnr centers, and is cheap atm.

Che's kind of a complex dude. On the one hand, he was a product of mid-20th century latin world machismo and said all kinds of bigoted shit about all kinds of people throughout his life.
On the other hand, he nearly gave his life trying to free the Congo - and surely would have had Castro not forced him back to Cuba. He had several close friends among African leaders and spoke passionately about Africa's revolutionary potential. He was OG on the anti-colonialist front. If you're willing to live in jungles and fight to the death in an unwinnable war while having dysentery for somebody else, really, how racist are you against them?

I think it's that it's not helping. Lavar's mouth has just painted a target on his son's back, and made his development way tougher. You can tell having every player with any game out to destroy him every night is breaking his confidence.

I mean, on the one hand you can't handwave all that shit because it's part of the problem. But on the other hand if someone says some disparaging stuff about my race but then is willing to take a bullet for me, I'm going to conclude that deep down they don't really mean it.

I'd like to hear more about this.
The one thing that makes Che's situation different from an ordinary soldier is that it was his idea to go there, everyone, even other African leaders were telling him he couldn't win. But he still showed up in the Congo with 12 guys and spent months fighting and trying to inspire a local uprising alongside a hundred Congolese rebels.
Maybe I'm a slacker but this doesn't sound like the type of thing I'd do casually for people I didn't like.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostI'd like to hear more about this.that's basically every 20th century and on trans-nationally connected country's special forces though

But he wasn't special forces. He was the #2 guy in his country. He was the main diplomat, the head of the national bank. This is like if Joe Biden had just got up one day and said "you know what Barry? I'm sick of doing nothing. I'm gonna go lead a people's uprising and overthrow Yemen, they've suffered enough. You're on your own."
You can problematize it politically, and there's no question he was trying to bring other nations into Cuba's political orbit, in contestation with the West. But it would have been easy enough for him to send 1500 guys to do it for him, if that's all that was motivating him. Instead he went on his own, with a minimal squad, because he wanted to make sure it was a Congolese uprising, not another foreign power colonizing Africa again.
I dunno. I have no doubt that you understand a soldier's mentality better than I do. But one of the truest things I learned in psych was that if you want to really understand someone, don't listen to what they say, but look at what they do. It's hard for me to look at the actions in his life and just close the book on him saying "this was a guy who hated black people."

if you want to be a cowboy, be a cowboy. shit, dubya wanted to live that life too but he and many other self-absorbed leaders are out front in country's that are a bit hesitant these days. i don't think that the composition of people has to or needs to be free of contradiction. hell, the one thing you'll notice about anyone with the urge to be a part of a military/paramilitary/possiblyviolentendeavor is their natural born ability to rationalize everything they do to an extent.

That's fine, I've pretty much said everything I could say on the topic anyway. If someone wants to come back and say "no, the amount of racism I accept from someone is none" I'm not really going to argue against that.

If/when Tyler Ennis gets the call to start you're still going to hear about it every day in the paper and on SC. The best thing for Lonzo's development right now is some serious time with a shooting coach in the offseason.
