By unknown Go To PostI don't think anyone ever actually tanked on purpose.Hinkie did it for years, Suns did it just last year shutting down bledsoe for like half a season, even the lakers shut players down last season. That's how you tank. Suns didn't start this season with the intention to tank, McD has no foresight and didn't anticipate Bledsoe requesting a trade, if he wanted to tank this year Bledsoe would've been gone in the off season.
By unknown Go To PostI don't think anyone ever actually tanked on purpose. My dude did you ever see Boris Diaw in charlotte?
I think syphon is right in that players don't tank. Now GM's often tank and sometimes the coaches are in on it too, but you're not going to get players to lose for the express purpose of getting a better young guy to replace them. Now players quit all the time for various reasons, but that's a completely different situation.

I'd love to hear some OKC denialists claim that though. Just so I can have something to laugh about amidst all this other nonNBA bullshit.

what
By livefromkyoto Go To PostTo the best of my recollection I was not on the this-will-never-work train, but I think it was a totally defensible position. Because you could make the same "they have high bball IQ of course it was gonna work" argument about Westbrook & George (and people who watch the Olympics say the same thing about Melo) and yet here we are.I mean you could make that argument... it would just be a terrible argument.
And Russ is the reigning MVP, while Harden is literally Stalin.
"Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony are high IQ basketball players."
response: "No."
Argument lost.

So...are we really at a place with the bball IQ discussion where we say that a guy who's won an MVP, made it to a Finals and multiple conference finals and been the first guy to average a triple double since the moon landing doesn't understand the game well? Because if so I don't really know what the term is for other than when you need to reach for a compliment for uninspiring dudes who mainly get floor time because they do what the coach says.
And people swear Melo knows what to do from his time on team USA, he just doesn't wanna.
You can understand the game well and still be a selfish stupid asshole. That's the nuance people should be taking imo.
By pilonv1 Go To PostWait weren't the Cavs up 10+ a few minutes ago?yea that was weird.
Drummond has for sure outplayed Embiid this evening. Embiid looking like the Harden of Centers tonight.
By s y Go To PostEmbiid even foul baits like Harden.lol no
By DY_nasty Go To Postlol nommmmm, I'm gonna roll with this Embiid Harden thing at least for a couple more games okay
By s y Go To PostDrummond has for sure outplayed Embiid this evening. Embiid looking like the Harden of Centers tonight.how so?
He team lost and he fouled out. He also got styled on at times by Amir fucking Johnson. He laust.
Embiid does foul bait tho…
Asik not playing terribly in the first half. It gives me a warm, wholesome feeling to see that quality of play from him. :3
I stepped outside to walk my dog (and take some interesting pictures) and came back to a Pel 18 point lead? wtf

Like 15-2 run or some shit ... just awful
By Fenderputty Go To PostThese late 4th quarter collapses are annoying
All we had to do was keep the margin to 1 against those idiots in the 4th and we couldn’t even do that.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostWait - Denver is the 4 seed in the West now? What's going on over in that conference?mostly injuries, and anointed 4th West team OKC isn't very good
By livefromkyoto Go To PostWait - Denver is the 4 seed in the West now? What's going on over in that conference?Rox doing good, Warriors doing good, Spurs doing good, it's the usual.
Clips lost Paul.
OKC gained Melo.
Grizz is dealing with an injured Conley.
Blazers still have growing pains.
etc.
By charsace Go To PostMitchell is fun to watch. Just wish he wasn't playing in a red state stronghold.its weird to me that this matters to people
By diehard Go To Postits weird to me that this matters to peopleIt's weird you continue to push an anti Carmelo-narrative over a series from 10 years ago when he isn't remotely the same player. Whatever helps you sleep at night, I suppose.

anti Carmelo "narrative" lol, is winning a narrative?
Also i never say anything about him, he's basically irrelevant.
