By Cleff Go To PostWhat's he got to do with it? Strawman argument. Rashford is barely out of his teens and is having his best season to date in terms of impact on the game. He's a kid who wont be done developing as a player for another three or four years. Dips in form are to be expected. It was a separate question
By n8 dogg Go To PostI'll happily vote for a top 5 in each position.Without putting too much thought into it and with multiple players being forced into not-quite-adequate categories:

Chiellini
Koulibaly

To be honest there probably isn't much point in doing one because everyone's lists are going to be so similar.
I'd have:
- the exact five same keepers
- at least three of the same five defenders (I think Pique's still pretty underrated and everyone marginalises his role for Barca because they liked Puyol more/don't like that he's a bit of a cunty bollocks in the media, and I'd have Alderweireld in there). Probably instead of Azpi and Kouli, who I haven't seen enough of.
- would swap Moses for Azpi for full backs, and Walker for Carvajal
- the five centre mids you have I'd probably have too... on-form Busquets and Pogba maybe ahead of Jorginho and Nainggolan, but the latter two are more consistent right now so fair enough. David Silva as well? Lots of choice here.
- no quibbles whatsoever with your attacking mids/strikers, albeit would like to find a place for Aguero and perhaps Robben; move Ronaldo into Sane's spot and give it to Aguero.
Think a line up in leagues is a good way to go!
De Gea; Azpilicueta, Alderweireld, Vertonghen; Valencia, Kante, Pogba, De Bruyne, Walker (#yolo - if this is cheating then eat shit); Hazard; Kane
Buffon; Hysaj, Koulibaly, Chiellini, Ghoulam; Jorginho, Nainggolan, Pjanic; Dybala, Icardi, Perisic
Oblak; Carvajal, Ramos, Umtiti, Alba; Casemiro, Kroos, Modric; Isco or Griezmann, Messi, Ronaldo
Bundes would just be fucken Bayern.

De GOAT the #1 GK that's for sure. Neuer can have #2 i guess until he proves himself again after injury
this why we vote innit
if you do categories you'd have to make a player pool though so Messi's (example) votes dont get split between AM and Winger for example.
either that or just make it simple GK, Defenders, CMs/CAMs. Wingers. Forwards

Leon Bailey/Pulisic are better than Coman. Goretzka is on par with Thiago for me, or at least got the potential. The rumors surrounding him are there for a reason.
Dortmund players are hard to judge due the shitty situation, so my argument for any of them is worthless at the moment. Except for Pulisic or Reus, but he's injured anyway.
Some more players that would fit into the list, but I'm gonna make a proper list tomorrow maybe.
I wonder how long they'll give Bosz at Dortmund. Things turned around rather quickly.
Still need to see Okja.

They're already out of the CL but I think that'll be the last straw.
We've been linked with Goretzka. He's amazing in Fifa this year so lets sign him. Apparently his contract ends next summer..

I mean if he really would join bayern he has to battle thiago, tolisso, martinez, rudy, vidal and sanches (lol) for the 2 CM positions
Every big team there is has been linked with Goretzka. Even we have.
He's said he'll reveal where he's going in January anyway. Not too long to wait.

How do you guys get stadiums built over there in Europe? I know in the NFL here they just hold cities to ransom and make them pay for it or they'll just go to a new city that will.
I think the NBA is a little better about that. IIRC the Warriors funded their own new arena
Anything besides the sky link the other day? He'd be perfect for us.

By domino Go To PostHow do you guys get stadiums built over there in Europe? I know in the NFL here they just hold cities to ransom and make them pay for it or they'll just go to a new city that will.In Italy at least, it's the exact opposite. Cities own the stadiums, lease them to the clubs and generally oppose said clubs in their efforts to either improve / renew the existing infrastructure or build stadiums of their own. Not like most italian clubs go out of their way to come up plans for new stadiums, which is a big fucking problem in itself, but when they try to, they're in for endless negotiations / arguing with the city's council.
It's fair to say that it very much depends on the city though. Roma and Lazio have been trying for years, Napoli as well, Milan's project got semi-approved, but then the club changed their minds for whatever reason. Juventus and Udinese faced far less opposition and got shit done.
Interesting. That's probably a more sustainable model but I can see where there would be some drawbacks as far as money making potential

I know it’s easier said than done, but Milan should have gone balls deep and got the stadium sorted out instead of splashing the cash on players.

But damn the local
I'm liking our squad for tonight. Would've preferred some more player rotation after Napoli and because of what awaits us on Saturday, but qualifying for CL obviously takes precedence right now. I hope the lads have three stellar performances inside a week in them. Help us, Barca.

It is what it is. As I've posted recently, the whole italian football system is rotten to the core. For every Tavecchio there's two more behind him, from Serie A down to the very last of the amateur leagues. Until an outsider comes and goes tabula rasa on these motherfuckers and football is seen as and dealt with as a proper industry, nothing's going to change.
The league will stagnate at the very best, while almost everybody else in Europe sees their national movement(s) grow. We've not reached rock bottom yet m8s. It's such a shame too, because Italians know and love football, but are continuously let down when it comes to the business side.

I actually think it must be annoying for Real Madrid fans with the way the Spanish press relentlessly links you with every player in Europe going through a patch of good form.
Real haven’t poached any of the English PL talent they’ve been linked with since Bale... at least from what I can recall. They’ve been mostly buying young players from other Spanish clubs.
Edit: yep, just looked it up, the last player Real bought from an English team was... Javier Hernandez. The last high profile transfer was Gareth Bale.
If Hazard wanted to go to Real you’d have heard more murmurings about it I feel. The other ones like Mo Salah... not a chance that’s happening. We resisted 120+ from Barça for Coutinho, I do not see us letting go of Salah for any price after one season.

The only reason this Hazard article is being published is because Conte was asked about Hazard and Courtois's contract situations, and he mentioned that he'd like for them to sign extensions asap - meaning before Russia.
That's it. He didn't bring it up first or express any type of concern. It's literally a manufactured story with no solid base and Hughes is filling in the holes with made up assumptions.
