Irrespective of the result today lads, that was a cracking game of football and a stern lesson in the art of defending like a non league team.
Luckily, us English freaks do not give a slice and therefore shit does down the conveyor with shocking regulatory..

Moyes will get torn to smithereens later today. 4-0 minimum.
Honestly, I could see him being sacked before the new year.
Pulis to the rescue? I dunno. They're pretty screwed.

Even the lads on ATV werent that upset. But fuck man, that game was Fifa tier.

On a related note, it's ridiculous that a team like Arsenal is dependent on two players that are most definitely leaving.

That is how I feel.
I hate losing and it is never acceptable, but if you are gonna lose at least look like you are trying.
The lads looked up for it today. Just a shame that defensively and in front of goal there was just a huge gap in quality.

It is because we have nobody who has replaced Santi. It fucking did my head in the amount of times Sanchez was picking the ball up deep and centrally like he is a CM.
Yea, honestly surprised that Liverpool defense gets more shit than Arsenal's, since they've done some very daft defending. This loss is easier to swallow than the one against Liverpool since there was some bite to their attacking but if Wenger doesnt reinforce with some quality people, then this momentum will be lost.
By Frustrated_me Go To PostDetroit (film)… This is awfully bad. Like really bad.Seems to be grtting good reviews...
By inky Go To PostMaybe it's just me, but I didn't think Pogba had the intention to step on him. Don't dispute the card because he made contact, but I didn't see him going after his leg, just stretching for the ball.
I hate this cliche and I hate agreeing with Mourinho even more but Pogba has never seemed like a dirty player.
The tackle was bad enough that you have to put intent aside, though.
Pogba obviously meant no ill. It was just a weird occurrence. Weird of bellerin to go down like that and pogba couldn't avoid it
Is he even alive still? I figured he would have transcended into one giant ball of muscle at this point.

We don't have the prestige to attract top figures like Ozil or Sanchez anymore, 3 FA Cups are not going to lure the next Asensios

Shame we already threw any kind of contention for the league when we lost to Stoke and Watford. And today. At home against a direct rival, you just can not lose.

While De Gea was godlike in the second half, Arsenal arguably could have gotten a few in the first, if not for some awful finishing.
One of those games where luck definitely played a factor. Also seemed like Mou didn't expect Laca to be playing, and was tactically outplayed by Wenger tbh.
It's a good thing out strikeforce were great yesterday.

It can't happen, it won't happen, but imagine if Benevento got their first ever Serie A point vs. Inter today.

I feel numb to the defeat because I've become resigned to feeling this way for the next two years, all I want from wenger was to do his best to keep us competitive because he's clearly incapable of doing much more than that (in the league) so dare I say I even enjoyed the game.
Reminds me of Arsenal Man Utd of old, where we feel we played better but at the end of the day who cares lol. I am in agreement with shanks about the effort though, guys really did try (doesnt take away from the fact that alot of them just arn't good enough imo) but cant fault the effort.

I'm not sure about this, while your right in the short term I've actually been way more interested at whats been going on off the field than on it. While I dont expect to see results this winter window or even next summer, I'm curious to see what Raul and Sven bring, how/what changes the ex team sky guy brings the next round of contract renewals, how/if our injury record improves this season under Darren. While it may not have exactly been an change i wanted Ivan seems to slowly be delivering on his word of liquidating wengers power which for arsenal is probably just as important as anything that happens on the pitch this season.
Thing that concerns me is our commercial activity, if we can make some significan improvements in our revenue while we will never be able to compete with the whores of manchester. They have to realise we have to do more, alot mroe to have any chance of competing consistently for the top four again. Once Sanchez and Ozil go that should free up a huge amount of from wages perspective (and the effective cap that was in place this summer, close to 500k for the pair if rumours are to believed) so we could be a position where once a new manager comes in they'll be in probably the strongest position we've been in for a long time and we have a major overhaul. I just really hope wenger isnt given the opportunity to do much rebuilding as quite frankly not sure I totally trust him anymore.

ALso Viva is right, Lukaku has been wank, fuck all this improvements will come and he works hard bolllacks. He's a 90 million pound player and doesnt remotely look like offering value for that sort of doe.
What does a 90 million player look like? see Jesus, Aguero, even laca.
Trying to make excuses and accept it is how you drift into mediocarity

Well, I don't think Lukaku is a 90 million player. So isn't Morata, or Laca to be honest.
Let's not forget the fleecing clubs gave this summer window because there's only a few available good strikers, and got worse for every other position after the Neymar transfer.
Lukaku isn't worth 90 million, same as how Walker, Siggursson isn't worth 50. Fuck, the fact that Drinkwater went for a 40 million transfer says a lot about this transfer window.
And let's face it, it will definitely get worse next season with the limited amount of time available for EPL teams to buy players, that will made even worse with the World Cup making some players unavailable for talks until after it's over.

You're treating Lukaku like you did Martial and look how well he's doing now.
Players go through bad spells.
Players go through bad spells.
Talking about how much a player is worth these days just seems silly. The only measurement worth anything, is what they actually go for. That is what they are worth. Prices are inflated to the point, where we see world breaking transfers every window, with quite a few clubs that has enough money to spend it however they please.
By all reports, it's said to be between 32 and 35 mil. Not that 35/30 mil doesn't still sound insane for Drinkwater....

The Great Moyes Boys Civil War has begun.
For me I'm happy if the player, if they didn't score contributed. It's when they constantly misplace passes, give up on challenges, sulk etc etc that irk me the most.
Probably I don't know, my expectations have been tempered somewhat by some United players who have played like they don't give a fuck in the last 3 years.
By W Go To Postthese defenses of lakaka sounds like the ones of torres by chelsea supporters.
The man who won you the champions league m8
I should be pissed about Lukaku, shouldn't I? I did say the reason why I want him is because he bangs goals in.
But I really am happy with him.
But I really am happy with him.
Lukaku is desperate and it shows. He wants to do everything at once just to appease but rather than having the desired effect I fear that it hinders him and - in particular - his attacking play as a striker. It's like he's trying to emulate how Ibrahimović played last season but without succeeding.
I stand by my "assessment" of him needing to be dropped in order to regain his earlier form. 1 goal in 8 (or 1 in 12 if you count the CL/EFL) is horrendous.

kinda feel bad for Juve for giving us Coman and 20m but getting Costa instead.
talk about a downgrade.

Arsenal’s attack played very admirably in the game yesterday, but I disagree with the notion that it was just Arsenal vs De Gea. Man Utd have done the same thing to so many teams this season where they hit them early with a goal in the opening minutes, then play an ultra compact low block and force the other team to commit players forward, opening them up for counters. For all their attempts on goal, they had barely any high quality chances at all because there were so many men in the box defending.
If you don’t concede early, you force them to do what Mourinho doesn’t want, which is to risk conceding because Young and Valencia are pushed all the way up the pitch.
Arsenal’s defense is at fault for this loss, giving away a goal to a right back in the opening minutes... that’s just a crock of shit and if I were Arsenal’s attack I’d have been fuming that the defense just made it such an uphill battle. How I imagine Salah and Firmino felt when Lovren gave Spurs two free goals.
