1) it’s pretty much everyone’s opinion
2) the Turkish League is not as indicative of quality as you seem to think
By Frustrated_me Go To PostSalah, phew.
Stop. I know you’re commenting because you think Madrid are going to buy him. Please don’t buy him. He’s worth more than the entire club.
You couldn’t afford him anyway, to be honest. Madrid aren’t going to go paying 150m when you didn’t pull out all the stops for a player like Mbappe, who fits the profile of the type of player RM would chase.

By Oddinho Go To PostStop. I know you’re commenting because you think Madrid are going to buy him. Please don’t buy him. He’s worth more than the entire club.Well, obviously they’d have to wait at least one more season after this, so in 18 months anything can happen. It would obviously be over £200 million, though, at that stage. I think they’ll have moved on to the next Galactico by then.

Didn't expect Salah to be this good tbh
I had watched him a few times for Roma but don't know how he has done this to the mighty EPL. Its incredible.

Finding it really difficult to watch Black Mirror.
Despite being over the top bleak, the decisions characters are making in ArkAngle and Crocodile are so hilariously dumb.

We can talk about Mourinho all day, but let's not kid ourselves in thinking that Pep would join a Club that didn't have Arab money, or a monopoly on the league. It does beg the question as to how we measure the quality of managers when the most successful are the ones seemingly most reliant on financial doping to get that quick-fix.
There should be a wage and transfer cap on the league to give parity for clubs. We're fast on our way to having a club spend £400m on transfers and miss out on 4th place.

Because said £400m team may be beaten to one of those four places by a team spending less (see: Tottenham).

Let’s not just boil football down to “money wins”. It helps, but money wasn’t the reason Pep Guardiola built those Barca and Bayern teams, and has managed to build a similarly impressive team in England (which many during the summer said was impossible).
Also it’s clear that rampant spending like United have done over the last five years doesn’t guarantee serious success. Their outlay since Ferguson left has been phenomenal but what has it produced? It’s got to be done with a plan and within a structure.
Now, if you want to question where City’s money comes from and whether Pep should have any misgivings about that then I think you’ve got a more compelling point. But saying he’s not an outstanding coach just because he’s been fortunate financially has been proven wrong at this stage.
By Laboured Go To PostSeems like Nike have accidentally revealed Coutinho to Barca. Idk if already posted.
Wonderful news.
By Laboured Go To PostSeems like Nike have accidentally revealed Coutinho to Barca. Idk if already posted. How bizarre.
Don’t really think it makes sense before the summer considering Barcelona’s league position and our need for the player until the summer. Would imagine we’ve got something lined up to appease people beyond Van Dijk because it’s going to absolutely pull the arse out of our season.
Especially as it looks like it’s due to happen almost the day the window opens (based on copy).
Weird they wouldn't wait until the summer. Can't even play him in the CL and they don't need him to win the league.
By n8 dogg Go To PostWeird they wouldn't wait until the summer. Can't even play him in the CL and they don't need him to win the league.Seems a hugely dumb and counter productive thing to not only do, but line up to the point of sponsors being able to write copy for a website. Like, that’s way down the pecking order in a transfer of this nature.
As I say, it’s bizarre. If it’s true the club should announce it tomorrow, there’s a sense that people already feel lied to (without words being spoken).

His price now and summer would be pretty much the same i think, so it makes sense why Barto would try to get him now instead.
Signing him now would also help in keeping Iniesta fresh for all the CL games as Coutinho would be playing every league/cup match.
Selling him in this window doesn't make much sense from Liverpool's perspective though. If they could cockblock Barto last summer, surely they could do it again in middle of the season.

It’s stupid from us, so people are about to be very, very angry, but I don’t see how Nike have the poetic copy written in multiple languages if it hasn’t.
If it hasn’t and we have no intentions of selling then I think some people could get in serious trouble.

Really interested to see how Liverpool explain this one. It’s such a bad move for the club and could seriously impact our season, and most importantly didn’t need to be done until the summer.

We'll struggle even more to replace him now than we would have in the summer. No idea whatsoever where the advantage is in us selling him now as opposed to in the summer. His value won't be going down.
