alt righters and gamergaters not staying on a site just to shit on people who have left? what a surprise
By n8 dogg Go To PostActually hurting me looking at the reset thread for TLJ. Why is everyone more obsessed with lore and backstory than the things that make the fuckin thing in front of you so great?
It was a beautifully shot film, but poorly written and not very star warsy.
Since when did every character need to be about having comical moments? And some of the lines were ATOC bad.
It might be the best made blockbuster I have ever seen, but as a SW film? Nah.
It had its moments, but it is the only film that I have left the cinema and not wanted to go right back in and watch again.
Plus, it also borrowed a lot from ESB and ROTJ.
Luckily, the comics are fucking on point. Gonna go back and finish up Vader.

Nate, I agree with you m8. Lore is pointless if it's a shit story. That's why I've checked out on most comic book, fantasy stuff since it's a bunch of wankery.
By Hitch Go To Postgaf update cos I know you're all fascinated
Tonnes of single page threads on the gaming and off topic front pages, as there isn't enough activity to push them off.
Gamergaters and alt-right knobends who joined in the aftermath of the site's demise seem to have grown bored already and departed.
The site has become essentially nothing, very reminiscent of the way the gameplay.co.uk forum ended up before the plug was pulled
Wonder if Evilore put significant money in the bank before the shit hit the fan, or if he spent what he took out on the assumption that ad revenue would keep coming in, or he'd be able to sell the site if necessary.
As it stands, ain't nobody worth a shit putting their logo on a corpse, let alone buying one.
Poor guy.
Naw, fuck him. Dude dug his own grave.

Lol, true. Everyone interprets things differently.
Glad you enjoyed it though.
A friend I went with said she kept looking over at me to see my responce to moments and I didn’t look amused.
Maybe I will be less grumpy when I watxh it again tomorrow lol
How is it not Star Wars-y?
People need to stop putting the original trilogy on a pedestal, I swear. Like it has some unfathomable quality no other SW film can ever reach.

By Zabojnik Go To PostHow is it not Star Wars-y?As someone who hasn't seen the new film and, thus, isn't responding to anything specific about it: the original trilogy is quite sensibly 'put on a pedestal' when determining what characterizes Star Wars as Star Wars, because those films established what Star Wars is. Everything else is like emanations from them, especially the first one; and like quasi-Platonists we all tend to bemoan deviant variations of the Form.

By batong Go To PostTime to ban SW talk from this thread, let's all talk about the demise of Milan instead. Was anyone else as amused as I was by the article that speculated Elliott might try to keep Milan because the son of one of the hedge fund's founders is an Arsenal supporter?

I didnt see it but am amused just hearing about it.
What's the logical connection there? Just that he's a football fan and so wouldn't be opposed to bragging about his daddy owning a club to his friends ... or is there a deeper, a more inscrutable reason behind it, possibly one that would have us all laughing about Arsenal FC, as one does?
