By FootbalIFan Go To Postref not following the rules is not the same as missing a chance. You can complain about the refs and be somewhat right but at end of the day, Barcelona was just not good enough in front of goal today.
Dumb response unless I've misunderstood your reply
You created enough chances to win this easily but missed some scandalous opportunities.
It's easier to criticize the ref than admit your own team's mistakes.
Good team selection, exactly what I wanted. 343 doesn’t work without Toby, we have gone back to the 4231 and Sissoko and Rose are dropped.

The referee not counting it is out of all teams, except madrids, control.

What is this forum's problem with teams that get screwed over by refs or injuries? Why do so many people have a problem admitting the result of a game was impacted by one of those things? It's like it hurts their very soul to admit a team dropped points thanks to something other than skill. I'm not the world's biggest Barca fan but this is the second game in a row a goal was wrongfully disallowed changing a win to a draw.

Barcelona scored a goal when the assist came from a ball was completely out of the field just a little over a month ago.
Saying there's a conspiracy against them is ridiculous.

After the Sakho thing I kinda thought that we'd use Can less and less since he doesn't want to be here. Instead we're crowbarring him into the team even as one of two centrebacks. Is Gomez injured?
final bet was Chelsea, United, Pool and Spurs
impossible for any of them to lose now, Chelsea just done

I would agree. Even though we've not played that badly in the last two it's worth making a change to bring Dier into midfield and make sure Sissoko is not on the pitch
Newcastle really need to find a #9 that wants to play for them for what they're going to be willing to afford. They're not very good in any one position, but a legit forward, or any kind of striking presence stands out from the rest as a major need. They should maybe take a chance on Danny Ings if he can pass a physical.

He could have done with a loan to someone where he wasn't absolutely needed, but would be given a chance to prove that he's fit enough.
Newcastle would be signing him with the hope that he'd be good enough to keep them out of a relegation battle, or drag them across the line if they were, and I'm just not sure he's back to that level. As far as I'm aware he hasn't been pulling up any trees for the U23s.
Having said that, the number of players who would guarantee enough goals, cost little enough for Ashley to sign them, and have no better option than Newcastle is basically zero. Guess the hope for them is that Ashley puts significant money up in January, as the club's value for the takeover will plummet if they get relegated, or are at real risk of it. With his track record though, there's little reason to believe he'll think that way.
What they'd give for another Papiss Cisse in January...
Reckon they could do far worse than Crouch, though Stoke would demand a premium since they look like they'll be a few games away frpm a relegation battle throughout the season as well. Not sure though whether Crouch is really capable of starting many PL games these days, he's a cracking option for Stoke from the bench but Newcastle need more than that.

Not sure which game to go with now. Watford/Spurs is the obvious competitive game of the lot, but Brighton/Liverpool could be the most interesting. I think I'm going to go with the latter and then maybe switch at half.

Shame he's not quite there yet, but maybe by January things will have picked up for him and his agent can get him a move somewhere. Rafa needs something more to work with soon though.
