By Kidjr Go To PostWe were fucked but the referee is really a distraction from the fact that city didnt need to step out of 3rd gear to put three past us.Im not blaming the refs tho. If you see my posts during the game, you'll see i was more triggered by the fact that our players stopped defending asking for offside than the offside itself.
I was just making a point about Meier's complains.
Chris Woods, West Ham's first-team goalkeeping coach, is the only remaining member of Slaven Bilić's staff.

Hard to know what to make of Schneiderlin. Highly rated at Saints and now just a few years of nothingness.

By Mole Go To PostWhen was the last time he did that though? he was crap at Man Utd, Sociedad and Sunderland. He did a good job at Everton but i don't see how that's relevant to him as a manager in 2017 and beyond.Sunderland was such a dumpster fire by the time Moyes arrived that I think most owners would probably just ignore it.
He was average at Sociedad. Turned up mid season and got them solidly mid table but they'd been a CL team only 2 seasons before so they probably wanted someone more dynamic.

Yeah had what I suspect is a chest infection for like a week now. One of those things where you wonder if it's worth going to the doctors or not at this stage.

Schneiderlin was not only good at Southampton pre-United, he was also arguably France’s best player on the pitch whenever he was playing. He solidified them completely.
By Punished Go To PostHope Moyseh appoints Giggseh as #2Schneiderlin is a confirmed fraud who was lucky to play next to Wanyama at Southampton. He can do the basics neatly but that's about it, he's at the same level as Jake Livermore.

Michael Emenalo quits Chelsea in major blow to Roman Abramovich
That came out of nowhere.
Michael Emenalo has shocked Chelsea by deciding to step down from his position as technical director.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/11/06/michael-emenalo-quits-chelsea-major-blow-roman-abramovich/
While speculation has been raging over the future of head coach Antonio Conte, Emenalo has decided to bring his 10-year association with the club to an end.
The move may be viewed in some quarters as a victory for Conte, but Emenalo has remained supportive of the Italian who he helped to appoint last year.

If you see my posts during the game, you'll see i was more triggered by the fact that our players stopped defending asking for offside than the offside itself.Just to follow up on this -- I was at the bar with our supporter's club so I wasn't posting -- not gonna bother to go back and look at posts from during the match. Maybe you pointed out that Kolasinac got away with a penalty and red card.. but my guess is you didn't. There were two major refereeing errors in this game and one benefited Arsenal and one benefited City.
I was just making a point about Meier's complains.
This is a clear penalty and given that it's not a foul where he accidentally gave a penalty away while playing the ball, it's a clear sending off as well. I think the fact Oliver didn't give the pen here when he should have probably also weighed on the second one (which was very clear regardless).
As I said before though, Arsenal played well at times and had two nice spells where they were better than City.. I think when Arsenal brought on Lacazette some of the positional awareness Delph has developed as a LB went out the window. He wasn't quite sure what to do with another forward being in play and kept moving in a more central position which left acres of space open for Arsenal to exploit on that right side. Fortunately that spell only lasted for about 10 minutes, but I was certain Arsenal would score again.
I dont think thats a penalty, at all. Even Sterling, a known diver, doesnt complain afterwards. He didnt realise he was pushed, at how minimal the contact was. Nobody here commented on the play as well. I knew youd call for a penalty tho.
The penalty given is not a clear penalty. It's one of those that can and cannot be given. It's a 50/50. It was a shoulder x shoulder situation.
You see every contact as a foul on football, especially when it's against your team. But it's not. After all, football is a contact sport.
You deserved to win the game in the end nonetheless. Far superior for most of it.

i figured it was a fairly obvious pen watching it live. overall though im not enjoying how tight the games are being called these days. it's like CL style refereeing has trickled down into the leagues. i loved that play where morata shouldered the shit out of jones but i fully expected a foul just on how they were calling the game.
lol i suppose i walked into that one.

Schneiderlin was a star at Southampton before Wanyama was bought, and he took a while to bed in as well after he arrived. He was no instant success.
Schneiderlin had a great impact when he first came to us. But I reckon just because he can't be bothered, his level fell off cliff. Good thing he will get disciplined now.
Surprised at Mirallas to be fair, he always looked very committed in training and he just signed 3 year contract deal. No idea what prompted him to do what he has done.

The revisionism on Schneiderlin is extraordinary.
He was unlucky to be bought by United when they were playing with a possession heavy, highly disciplined tactic, and while not as rigid, similar while at Everton.
Sometimes players seem to regressed because they were playing in a team that doesn't need their skillset.

What? He did not take over a dumpster fire at all, Allardyce's last 19 games produced 27 points iirc. That's a top half finish over a full season. It was no miraculous Poyet-esque escape. It was a solid climb by a manager who actually knows what he's doing.
David Moyes had a £30m goalkeeper, one of the league's best strikers, a defender worth £20m. The team had a solid spine. The prick himself, however, did not.

Schneiderlin was great at Saints. Was great before Wanyama got there, was great after. Gaal used him poorly and Mou gave up on him immediately. Don't think he's got what it takes mentally overall but revisionism is crazy.

He was really good when he first came to us though. I think the problem is mentally because he has an attitude problem. Already got 2 red cards in 10 games this season and now this.

Whether or not that's the case, I reckon others would view it as so. Allardyce still left a team that finished 17th, even if you can look more closely and suggest a turnaround. Sunderland had been dodging relegation for 5 years by the time Moyes turned up

When United defeated Ajax to win the Europa League, Mourinho spoke of it as a victory for pragmatism. It is a term that is frequently applied to his football, and football generally has a tendency to use pragmatic as a synonym for defensive. But they are not the same: a pragmatist does what is necessary to win; Mourinho insists on reactive football again and again, even when it means losing ground. The three games in the past month against top-six sides were always likely to represent a decisive phase of the season. In them United totalled six shots on target – and that suggests an approach that is not pragmatic, but is rather stubbornly dogmatic.

In August!
His signings: Papy Djilobodji (still unfathomable); Manquillo (garbage); Pienaar (LOL); Gibson (LOL); Donald Love (he's absolutely shit, forget the "youth" tag); Mika (WHO!?); JOLEON FUCKING LESCOTT (YEAH THAT HAPPENED); Oviedo (ok); McNair (not what we needed); Denayer (decent signing tbh but on loan); Januzaj (fuck off); Ndong (only decent one but he then refused to play him FOR NOT BEING BRITISH, PROPER BREXIT STUFF).
Anyone that tries to give Moyes the benefit of the doubt for his year at Sunderland needs to research it a bit more.
