I guess for United, Bale is a headache you can afford to have. His stock has dropped low enough due to injuries and lack of playing time that I don’t think you’d need to even break Lukaku’s fee. It’s money you have and he’s so good that even with limited appearances over only a handful of years you’d gent what you need from him... a few unplayable performances and a handful of clutch winners.
