For me an actor has skills when they make me forget who they are. Christian Bale can do that, from films like Machinist, American Hustle, The Fighter, American Psycho, Batman Begins. He's a really good character actor, with some black marks for acting in action or a certain superhero movie which means it's hard for some nerds to take him seriously.

Dominic West is a great actor and his accent slips out all the time. Alice Eve sounds American as apple pie and she's not that great. On the grand scheme of things, forgetting Brits are not Americans is a baseline requirement in Hollywood, not an accomplishment. It has nothing to do with whether he was Batman or not, which I don't give a fuck about. My comment wasn't even particularly about Bale, just the idea that losing the accent is what makes one a good actor.

There are alot of underrated amazing actors people tend to forget about just because they weren't all that in their most popular movies. I used to hate Colin Farrell but after watching The Killing of Sacred Deer and remembering how surprisingly amazing he was in The Way back, I have started rated him as a great actor.
Miecheal Shannon, Jake Gyllenhaal, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Garry Oldman, Anthony Hopkins, Fassbender are all better than Bale in my eyes.

That game looked and sounded interesting at e3 when Mattrick was still running things for them. It's probably going to be a great game that no one is going to be playing three weeks after it launches. They'll then give it away for free six months later and it'll have a nice little audience for a few more weeks before dying.
