By Pele.gif Go To PostLet's be honest, it has been coming for Italy.
Out of the last 2 world cups on the group stage. Now this.
The last time Italy didnt play a world cup Brazil won it (58)
The last time Holland didnt play a world cup Brazil won it (02)
Imagine whats gonna happen in 18 without both of them.
By Hitch Go To Post@Shanks, who is the rat-faced cunt? Probably someone obvious, but I'm drawing a blank
Is it fair to say that Bonnuci went to war against Allegri, and lost? Strange that he did it knowing that he'd be pretty short of options if he was to leave and be unwilling to go abroad
Verratti.
Happens to always get timely injuries to miss games. Then is back for PSG.
Not to mention all his stupid suspensions.
Paolo Cannavaro seems proper Italexit

I thought Zlatan retired from Int Football ? Can he come back without having played in the Qualifiers or ?
By Lupercal Go To PostI thought Zlatan retired from Int Football ? Can he come back without having played in the Qualifiers or ?Yeah, you can choose who you want for the 23-man squad going to the tournament as long as they're eligible to play for the national team at all.
Personally I don't like to see players come out of retirement for it, no matter how good they are, even though I'm personally a bit of a hypocrite there. Have no problem with players from promoted teams being replaced by better players as they prepare for a season in a higher league, but it just doesn't seem right for somebody to choose not to help his team qualify, and then choose to bask in the rewards when the other players do it.
At the very least I think they should wait to be asked back, without knobend agents and representatives trying to pressure the managers into doing it.
Still occasionally see comments saying the World Cup is bloated, which I just don't understand. 32 teams, enough to allow enough representation from around the globe which is the entire point. And in addition to that, its perfectly suited to a format where half the participants are knocked out every round. Don't know why, but I intuitively find that a far better format than one like Euro 2016 where you're pissing about comparing teams from across groups to figure out how to cram the right number of teams into the knockout rounds
Looks like we will have ANOTHER bombshell dropped about the Trump Administration tomorrow.

Jorginho? Motta? Rossi? Eder? Osvaldo? Camoranesi?
Is he talking about those kind of players or am i misunderstanding
By FootbalIFan Go To PostWhat is he on about hahaMisunderstanding. The "15 years ago" part is key. He's referring to when the FIGC removed the non-EU player restriction beginning with the 02-03 season, permitting the clubs to sign and field as many non-EU footballers as they desired.

By Kidjr Go To Postwhat is an expected goal?No idea haha
By Kidjr Go To Postwhat is an expected goal?
Stats based on the quality of your attacking I think
By Kidjr Go To Postwhat is an expected goal?Different shots have differing chances to be goals depending on various factors. For example, long shots from outside the box are much less likely to go in than a close range shot. So just looking at shots or shots on target is not necessarily a good guide to how a team does if they have a shot on sight approach.
Expected goals uses this knowledge to produce a more reliable guide to how a team did statistically. Every shot that a team takes is coded by location and method and given a rating of how likely that such shits become goals. For example, headers] from the penalty spot might be scored on average 25% of the time. Thus, you would class any similar chances as having an ExpG rating of 0.25. meanwhile, a tap in from the six yard box might have an ExpG of 0.9. Then you simply sum all the ExpG for both sides.
This helps to put a performance in perspective. A defeat against Burnley might seem like a dire performance, but it might be that they scored a ridiculous 0.1ExpG chance and did nothing else while their opponents failed to convert loads of great chances (I use Burnley as an example since they are currently way over performing their ExpG this season). You could conclude this was just bad luck, not a bad performance.

I think we were planning it to be a pre-wc friendly for us too lol.
I hope whoever is CT takes it serious. Decades of not caring about friendlies have helped see us in this position of not qualifying. We need to be doing the Belgium thing of making sure we win all our friendlies to get good seedings,
Everton offered Watford £8.5 million as compensation for Silva. Turning into West Ham.

Yeah but we'll never win anything even with good seedings.
We have a golden generation but we keep getting the shittiest coaches there ever were.
