And yeah, I agree about the period. Like I said in the show thread, nobody does this period. I can't think of a single other game set during Kamakura. It's always the end of Muromachi or Edo. Very occasionally Heian.

All that Nobunaga stuff is the end of Muromachi (random fact: Sengoku isn't generally recognized as a distinct period by historians), that gets endless play too. Samurai Warriors, Onimusha, Nobunaga's Ambition, Sengoku Basara, etc.

I’ve only played Onimusha.
So does this game take place when the Japanese burnt their own villages and made it impossible for the invaders to land? It’s been awhile since I read up on Japanese history
