Anthem, BioWare’s upcoming online-focused open world shooter, has just lost a vital member of its development team. Steven Gilmour, who was working as the lead animator on the project, has left the studio, as per his LinkedIn profile.https://gamingbolt.com/anthems-lead-animator-leaves-bioware
Gilmour had spent seventeen years working with the Canadian developer, having worked on several major projects, including Knights of the Old Republic, the Mass Effect trilogy, and most recently Dragon Age: Inquisition. Anthem was his latest project at BioWare, before he left the studio.

A quote from a BioWare employee on Reddit (Verified):
To be honest, I don't understand all the death and gloom surrounding this one announcement, staff leave studio's all the time, even senior staff and very rarely does it effect the end product. I doubt one guy leaving BioWare is going to change much.
By BioAdmiralX Go To PostGenerally speaking of course we are sad when people leave, and we no longer get the opportunity to work with them. But no company is without turnover, even senior people it happens.
There is still a very large number of people that have been with the company a long time.
Lets take KotOR (came out in 2003) as an example, if you look at the credits under Core Game Design (which was literally the first list in the credits) we have the following: David Falkner, Steven Gilmour, Casey Hudson, Drew Karpyshyn, James Ohlen, Preston Watamaniuk, Derek Watts
The only person in that list that is gone is Steve, with Drew and Casey leaving and coming back.
So I know it's easy to look for any details to determine what is going on when there is little news, but I would say dont read into departures too much.

It's EA after closure of the Dead space folks, any kind of bad news will just seem to amplified. EA never had a stellar reputation to begin with

While that's true and expected you can't really blame people for being concerned considering recent events.
