Three underperforming games in a row. Three TOP OF THE LINE games doing poorly. Three games soaked in some of the best pedigree this medium has had to offer, struggling to find a sustainable audience........
We (game enthusiasts) are fucking up something fierce. Future generations will look back and wonder "what the fuck", at our collective MEH...
"What was hot back then" they will ask trying to understand. "PUGB? What?!!!"
The world building in the Dishonored series is lightyears better than it has any business being. The level design and systems in PREY shame most games of simillar AAA budget and Death of the Outsider is a wonderfull reminder of days when companies released self-contained and meaty story expansions.
I fear for their future... Stay Strong Arkane!!!! :(
These games are all amazing and they are DIRT CHEAP right now. I recommend everyone giving them a try.

I ended up getting a refund for Dishonoured 2 as it ran so fucking badly on pc. Loved the first one though.

Fucking up in dishonored and having to pull any trick and gizmo in your arsenal to survive is half the fun though

loved dishonored 1, haven't played 2 yet, didn't really like prey (mainly because of the setting and the enemies)

Dishonored is a fantastic game and everyone should play it. Loved the Bioshock/Half Life influence and it got me to play a single player FPS for the first time in a while.

This is their best game. It's too bad they seemed to ignore it when they made Dishonored, which, while both being great games, had severely dumbed down sword combat compared to the š.
I was watching their prey steam db and it seems they are working on something. In a previous patch they mentioned fixing some jammig animation error which the game does not have and then redacted it from the patch notes. I hope this means they are still working on the survival mode.
And yes Dark Messiah is one of the best games ever made. Ubisoft blocking the sdk, what a dirtbag move.

I've tried to get into Dishonored, but it never holds my interest and I'm really into the whole FPS stealth thing. I also played the demo of Prey and wasn't overly impressed. Maybe I'll try them again at some point.
Don't get me wrong, the style of game Dishonored is can be very unapproachable. A lot of people aren't used to something being so open in solving regaring the level design and enemy encounters that, more often than not, those players automatically opt for the lethal route. Adding that with the game actively punishing those who do go lethal due to the morality system and you have a pretty unrewarding game.
I think Death of the Outsider is the best game to start with just to get a feel of the series, but , it's also the last game in that timeline so being forced to know these characters can be pretty jarring.
Also; if you like lore, Dishonored is the hottest game right now with the best lore. so many stories and tidbits hidden in the environment, both in and out of collectible logs and the like.

Seems like their games do well critically. I've heard that if a game gets a decent critical reception but poor sales, publishers put more blame to the marketing than the dev studio, might be why they're still in operation?
Sometimes, great media just dosent find its audience at first. how many cult classics were only rediscovered in hindsight of years looking back ?
It really sucks, I bought and played Dishonored & D2 many times and absolutely love those games. I hope everything goes well for them š I haven't got the D2 stand-alone yet though, there's just too many games... I might be part of the problem?!
I wanted to like Dishonored, I really did. Just could never get into it when I played on release, despite it being exactly my type of game. For that reason, I didn't buy the sequel.

Clockwork mansion in Dishonored 2 is masterclass. Halfway through Prey, but despite amazing visuals and music the story and combat is lacking in my opinion. One of the best devs out there at the moment though

Not to diminish anyone's hard work but the first Dishonored didn't do anything for me, so I skipped the next one, which I keep hearing isn't as good as the first.
Prey seems more interesting to me but I have other priorities and didn't even follow the launch. I can wait.
