They weren't that brilliant in the previous season either. They've def. lost the magic they had in the league a few years back. They've been doing good in CL though.

Yeah, think it also has to do with their better players signing for other clubs or just being there on loan. They are still very good but not as scary as then. I do miss that level of them though, Madrid derbies became really intense and fun to watch.
