By reilo Go To PostIs the assumption here that it's not quite gaming related?
It may or may not be - I can recreate in the gaming section if it does end up being gaming related.
No rumors on what it could be right now that I can see either.
By Alpende Go To Postare there any rumors?Sounds like it's game related.
Some game got canned or a studio, we'll see.
I hope he isn't quitting. Or at least, I hope he isn't leaving game news. There's a few people that write about games that I consider journalists and he's near the top of that list.
By GQman2121 Go To PostI hope it's something on the level of Mario's metacritic dropping to a 95 or some shit.
So I assume it's something similar.
By Dinda Go To PostMy guess would be detailed information about the end of Visceral.Yup. Plenty of time has passed now to have a proper written story.

Visceral story definitely sounds like the most likely thing - if it’s a different studio that will be very unfortunate.
By Pennywise Go To PostSeems to be related to scale, not topic. That being said Visceral does seem like the most likely candidate.

Dead space 1+2 are some of the best horror games in gaming period. Studio deserved better. Hope some split to make a new studio instead of opting to be splintered off across EA. Talented crew.
By KodaRuss Go To PostVisceral has got to me it. I cant wait to read it. Fucking EA man.
Same - was a waste of Viscerals talent and a waste of Hennig. I hope they all find jobs elsewhere or reform under a different name with different publisher.
By DY_nasty Go To Postplease let fromsoftware be ok
..don’t put that evil in this thread man, that is not ok.
By DY_nasty Go To Postplease let fromsoftware be okWhy would it not be? Do you know something? WHAT ARE YOU HIDING?

By Ukumio Go To PostJust thought, it could be NeoGAF….again.lol, Neogaf: Knicks of the Forum world. Its the gift that keeps on giving.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostWe sold Reilo for 10M$.Damn y'all got a good deal cause I'm worth $25 at most
By reilo Go To PostMaybe update the thread title?
Done and included link up top.
Visceral and Star Wars, two things that don't interest me. But I'll give it a read later over dinner since I do appreciate the lost art of long form game writing coverage.
Development sounded like an absolute mess. EA created a fuck ton of problems, but the studio didn't exactly make things easier for themselves either.
Frostbite fucking sucks.
EA were ridiculously stupid for making them develop Hardline too.

Is every EA studio but DICE having issues with Frostbite? I guess eventually it will have all the tools it needs for every type of game but it seems to be a team killer right now.
Something like Ghost Recon Wildlands with a Star Wars setting and a more interesting campaign would have fit the bill quite well for Ragtags I think. Shame.

That’s my problem with a lot of recent EA news.. all of it seems to be tied in some way to how bad an engine Frostbite seems to be in terms of ease of use.
Why doesn’t EA have DICE actually train their other studios? Sharing information isn’t some crazy new idea.
By PeskyToaster Go To PostIs every EA studio but DICE having issues with Frostbite? I guess eventually it will have all the tools it needs for every type of game but it seems to be a team killer right now.In his book, Jason reported that every EA studio that touches it for anything but a shooter complains that it's not built for anything but Battlefield. The Mass Effect and Dragon Age teams had a hell of a time getting it to work for an RPG. Dragon Age was able to come together. Mass Effect did not.
Found it funny that it started off as open-world, then EA made them change it to Uncharted-like, and now are going back to open-world again.
Seems painfully obvious they're going to cancel a bunch of these GAAS type games once the industry shifts again.

But they also made the most unambitious game they could, even by Bioware's own standards.
Switching from third-person action-adventure games to a first-person shooter had been a rough adjustment for many people at Visceral, sources said, and a lot of them still didn’t actually want to make Hardline. Morale had sunk at the studio by then, and Visceral was already losing key artists and engineers who weren’t interested in working on the game. “EA does internal health surveys,” said one person who worked on the game. “Throughout most of Hardline’s production, Visceral had the worst team health survey at EA, for like two years running.”Ugh, that really sucks. If only they had gotten the chance to course correct Dead Space.
