I mean, how else are you going to protect your minority neighbors? You don't bring knives to gunfights.
By Laboured Go To PostI use my Muay Thai thanks.
Bruce Lee's got nothing on me.
I have 3x the upper strength of any human being, I don't need no stinking gun. I'll greet them with my fists.
On a more serious note it's strictly illegal where I live.
You can get a hunting license (which varies by degree) to own rifles but even that is highly regulated and rigorously controlled.

Gun ownership knows no ideology. Depending on where you're from/at, you'll find plenty of liberals who hunt, go to the range..all that good stuff. I've got homies of varying races from both sides of the isle that hit the range every other month together..
By Alcotholic Go To PostWe use our words to disarm others. And maybe a hug.
You'd be amazed at how dialectics act as an invisible force field against high-powered projectiles and ordnance.

Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
But I'm actually military and know what to do with a gun not some fuckboy who buys revolver and masturbates furiously to the Taken trilogy.
If you're gonna get gun... be trained, be responsible, and realize accountability isn't optional.

This is me. I own to hunt. Wouldn't mind a riddle to plink around.
I'm of the opinion that the quickest way to get reasonable gun control legislation is to arm minorities. Which is depressing on multiple levels

Sad!
By Smoke Dogg Go To PostI guess I need to hurry up and get on that wave cuz I'm too much a city slicker. Do I just hit up Craigslist to find camping trips or something?Ranges are great places to train - up almost every one (the ones I've been to at least) have training courses, instructors, or at the bare minimum referrals to some on hand. You don't even need to buy a weapon first, you can rent a weapon or time at the range and see if its even something you want to involve yourself in to begin with.
Don't buy a gun off craigslist. Please. lol
By DY_nasty Go To PostBetter to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.Great, so when do you start your training camp and when do you start accepting sign ups?

By Fenderputty Go To Postarm minorities
I'm fine without one. You are more likely to kill yourself with a gun than any intruder. I'm happy without guns in my life. If you want to range shoot, that's fine. But I disagree that the gun should be allowed at the house, anyways.
Just know that you are roughly a bazillion times more likely to use a gun for self harm than you are for self defense.
By Smoke Dogg Go To PostGreat, so when do you start your training camp and when do you start accepting sign ups?
You have to complete Muay Thai training first otherwise you'll get killed by bullets like an idiot.
By Randolph Freelander Go To PostJust know that you are roughly a bazillion times more likely to use a gun for self harm than you are for self defense.Yeah but those odds are changing with the times, I reckon.
By Smoke Dogg Go To PostGreat, so when do you start your training camp and when do you start accepting sign ups?Never.
I train people who actually have a legit amount of understanding of weapons and I'll never possess the patience and willpower to train up civilians as a full-time or part-time job. The last time someone flagged me with a rifle while walking off a range I had to be restrained lol

Yeah too often somone buys a gun for protection and ends up leaving them loaded in the bedroom night stand or some shit. Trigger locks if you got kids people
California is the most liberal state and has like the second or third most guns from all the states.

The Gipper and NRA would prove this theory correct..
By Smoke Dogg Go To PostYeah but those odds are changing with the times, I reckon.Contrary to what the evening news would have you believe, its not prohibition era shootouts going on out there. Nor is the gubment coming to take them away by force.
But bad or isolated neighborhoods with questionably long police response times... Its not unreasonable to arm yourself. Never is. (alaska omg)
Its not gonna protect you from the next movie theater mass shooting or anything though.
By DY_nasty Go To PostAs an interesting aside, Larry David became my ultimate milkshake duck after he contributed to the lampooning of Bernie Sanders, so I've never been able to help myself but take this gif to be personally ironic in almost all use cases. The wounds of 2016 have cut deep.

It's probably cat piss
By Fenderputty Go To PostIt's probably cat pissWhy would they cook cat piss? Besides, I took a few Muay Thai lessons. My bulging thighs are the only guns I need.
By Apollo Go To PostCalifornia is the most liberal state and has like the second or third most guns from all the states.I believe that would be Hawaii first, Maryland second, but I like where your point is going. Maybe California is the best of both worlds right now.

This is basically where I'm at. I'd change my thinking a bit if there were better gun laws regarding training/registration/insurance.
It's sad that the terrorist who was responsible for the Vegas shooting had a significant easier time getting firearms than his victims are having getting medical care.

historically, this is the golden age. unless you live in nebraska. then you're probably already bleeding out
also hawaii is only liberal because that's the only choice for the state lol. if you actually look at some of their policies and values, then you'll QUICKLY see its a lot more red than people realize
but that's headed to a different topic

Canada has it pretty good with our licensing system. But criminals just go pick up their guns in the states and bring them across the border. Thanks, america.
The idea that gun ownership is a universally partisan issue is some straight up BS concocted by the NRA and GOP to get those single-issue voters to vote red down the ticket every time, despite the fact that most gun owners actually agree with basic gun law reform.

Honest question: When did gun control become a huge issue/debate? I want to say it was Colombine, but not sure on that.
By StarFireMk4 Go To PostHonest question: When did gun control become a huge issue/debate? I want to say it was Colombine, but not sure on that.Goes back to the Black Panthers tbh
I’m against any form of lethal weapon ownership, however I don’t believe weapon and defense ownership should be a partisan issue and it didn’t use to be... you could be a Democrat and regularly hunt without being looked at sideways

We had an assault weapon ban prior to columbine. If I'm remembering correctly
