Bluehole Wants To 'Maintain The Value' Of PUBG's Marketable Cosmetics

“We want to create a model that makes both groups happy,” Kim told Player.One. “People go out there and buy virtual cosmetic items. But if the value of them, or their prices, go down afterwards, it could make people feel like they wasted money. We wanted to see if that wouldn’t happen. If we can maintain the value of their items.
“If you buy a shirt in real life, and it’s a very high-value shirt, you can wear it for like a week. But then you can sell it on the second-hand market at a similar price. There’s no minus for you. We wanted to build something where we can see that healthy cycle, going over and over again, to satisfy both groups of players.”
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available in Early Access. The launch build is expected to hit Steam in early November. The game's Xbox One port is currently slated for early 2018.http://www.player.one/bluehole-maintain-value-pubg-marketable-cosmetics-121129
So that last quote is interesting, wasn’t the game supposed to come out for Xbox this year? A change of plans maybe?

I've seen a few twitch streams that convinced me that I'm not about that stress.

Sadly don't have a PC capable of playing this, so I can't wait for it to hit Xbox so I can join in on the fun.

Xbox 2018? Thats not good, Thought it was supposed to be here before the holidays (which seemed like a pipedream from the beginning).
The latest giant bombcast goes into this a bit. Basically the gist of it is that there are alot of hacker from China now using all kinds of hacks to win chicken dinners and then earn points for cosmetics and then selling it on the market. I dont follow the PUBG cosmetic market so idk how much they have an effect on it or enough to cause price fluctuations.
The interesting part though was that some of these hackers also sell their hacks on China social media platforms on top of farming the game for cosmetic loot. These hackers have special names that lets ppl know what social media platform they are on so that ppl can go find them there and then also buy hacks off them. Like some weird opposite zombie epidemic where ppl get faster and stronger instead of slow and shambling. Crazy stuff.
