Dynasty Warriors 9 launches February 8 in Japan/Early 2018 in US and EU

Dynasty Warriors 9 will launch for PlayStation 4 on February 8 in Japan, Koei Tecmo announced. The retail version will cost 7,800 yen, and the download version will cost 7,000 yen for the first two weeks before reverting to the retail price.

For what ever reason the combat just feels rewarding.

Having a simple juggle system that isnt DMC style is cool as well. Im not sure they will be to pull of the changes to the combat after 1 game on top of adding open world elements but we'll see.
I'm really looking forward to what all the changes will mean. Hopefully it all works out and this will be the next evolution of musou games.

I just picked up 8 Xtreme on Steam. No support over 1080p, it seems, but whatever. This is first DW I played since I last touched 3 on PS2. Man, it's nice to be back. I can turn my brain off and smash through waves. Did I miss anything worth checking out between 3 and 8? I notice a few spin-offs like "Empires" and the like. Xtreme seemed to be the definitive at the time.
