I keep collecting lots of cheap guitars instead of spending the big money on one really nice expensive one
I've got more pedals than I actually use lmao
I feel guilty but some of them I bought I really like it's just hard to play in an apartment. I have a JHS Bender and a PRS Horsemeat which both sound amazing but they need to be played at volume and unfortunately I don't have that luxury at the moment.
In the meantime, I'm mostly using a Nobel ODR-1 Mini as a volume boost (I love this pedal because it truly doesn't color the EQ when I don't want it to) and switch off to a Wampler Tumnus (it's a Klon) for a different tone when I do want the EQ color.

1) yes
2) no
3) fuck off cunt
absolutely. I tried out a PRS SE 24 at the guitar store and found it incredible, really comfy playing with great sound. would've bought it if I wasn't looking specifically for a Mustang.
By Oddinho Go To PostAh just discovered this thread. I try not to get occupied too much by gear because it distracts me from the important thing (playing and practicing), but it’s addictive to think about.
But anyway I’ll share my lovely baby darling. This is a Momose MV HSS Strat-style guitar, from 2021, the last year they used Madagascar rosewood for their fretboards.

I succumbed and ended up finding a '62 reissue Stratocaster (Made in Japan, 10/1991).
…
MAD jelly. Japanese guitars are incredible. I regret not getting one when I was in Tokyo
Right, the thread has forced me to buy a Gretsch Streamliner G2655. First semi hollow body I've bought. The 2655 is the smaller version of the 2622. It will make me look even bigger. Like a reverse David Byrne.
2023 spec is £450-499 but bought a second hand one with a hard case off Anderton's for £340. Fuck it why not. Potentially take it to a guitar tech I mBéal Feirste

Sounds like a good deal that. I just got my first Gretsch today but it's not a hollow body.

I got this exact one from Peach Guitars

I will say I absolutely love that every person in this thread has different tastes in guitars. It's actually awesome to see.
Buying that Fender Mustang Micro headphone amp the other week has reignited my interest. Last really played back in 2017 when I was an unemployed graduate and spent all my remaining money on a dozen Mooer pedals. Managed to kill my Fender Frontman amp at the start of the pandemic and so I didn't even get to use that period of free time to play.
We're so back.

The Mustang Micro is so great. Frees you from your gear room and gives you really full sound like you’re standing in front of a full sized cab. It’s a brilliant little device.
The only time I ever get to hear myself play at volume is in a rented practice space, so I love stuff like the Mustang Micro and Yamaha thr-30 that lets me get the sounds of high-volume guitar in my headphones

I got the Boss headphone amp as soon as I heard about it because at the time I was living in a flat with a new born and the spare room I kept my guitars and amps in got turned into a nursery. The app is a bit clunky but it sounds great and it really has helped me find more time to practice.
I had a Gretsch Streamliner G2420 - it was really nice but it did have a sticky nut and needed a bit of work out of the box. I found that I was playing it acoustically nearly all the time so decided to sell it and I plan on getting a small acoustic like a Taylor GS mini

I bought a UA Dream '65 when it was on sale over Black Friday because I always wanted a Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb but since it doesn't come as a head (even in reissue) it just didn't have room in my apartment along the one cabinet + amp (VOX AC15) I already had. It's also in that "could afford it but still a bit too much money for me right now" category at around $1,500.
I also use a Fryette Power Station to connect to my amp so I can keep the volumes manageable and not get evicted. But the Power Station also has a rather great bonus: it lets you connect amps-in-a-pedal like the Dream '65 to an actual cabinet via Line Out.
After playing the Dream '65 for about a week through my IEMs, I finally had some time today to connect it to my cabinet... and holy hell, this thing sings. To my ears it sounds better than the Vox AC15 especially for less than half the price of one. It just does the thing. It's early yet but given the compact form factor and the fact that it's all digital, UA did an amazing job.

Might have a bit of money to spare in the next couple months, someone submit guitars for my consideration
Which type of guitars are you interested in? Do you want something completely different from your usual preference? And most importantly, budget?
By reilo Go To PostWhich type of guitars are you interested in? Do you want something completely different from your usual preference? And most importantly, budget?I'd like to get something a bit different, I've been looking at this Gretsch Electromatic Pristine. Budget would probably be 2 grand and under.
I'm hanging out on the guitar subreddit to see what other people are buying, so many nice guitars out there.
Hmm, a bass you say?
By Lego Go To PostAs long as it's not out of the custom shop 😂 There's that new Dave Grohl Epiphone tooMay I interest you in the Collings Julian Lage I-35? https://www.collingsguitars.com/electric-guitars/i35/
$7,000+
I ended up getting this Taylor GS mini koa from GuitarGuitar in Epsom as I just wanted a little acoustic for playing around the house or taking on holiday.

I don't think the pictures on the site look as nice as it is in real life or show how small it is but I love the way it looks.
Its a lot warmer and less bright than the more traditional acoustics I have played and because it is smaller it has less volume which suits me as I am often playing to my 1 year old and I don't want to hurt his ears.
The neck feels quite similar to that of an electric but the small scale length means that bends need more bending than you would normally expect.
Sounds really nice though and came with a very well cushioned gig bag. Taylor seems like a decent company

I need to buy me a TC Electronic SCF chorus
the sound i've been looking for my whole life. the BOSS CE-2, any other chorus pedal or plugin/modeller effects does not come close to this.
I bought a Line 6 POD GO recently and none of the 6+ choruses on it satisfy me.

I've gotten into physical pedals now. RIP my wallet.
I bought an actual Boss BD-2 Blues Driver pedal after falling in love with its digital emulations and holy shit the real analog thing is even better.
I'm not a very big fan of overdrives which color the sound (eg. tubescreamer), the BD-2 is somewhat transparent so it maintains clarity in tone while giving it delicious grit. Unfortunately my POD GO which is my main practice rig now didn't have the BD-2 so I had to get it, it was my main OD/Distortion in my previous practice setups,
An absolute joy to play with it, does anything from a clean boost to full on distortion/fuzz territory. It also feels nice having actual knobs to turn and mess around with it.

By reilo Go To PostIf you like that look into a Nobles ODR-1. I have the Mini and it's fantastic.
I have heard good things about it (and heard it), the Helix got a model of it in the last update, the POD Go should hopefully receive it too in the next update and I'll try it out.
I'm trying to control my GAS and just get what I really need, and next on my list is an analog chorus pedal. My chorus usage puts 80s guitarists to shame.
