I've had my Priv for about a year now, I think, and I really like it aside from it's flakey wi-fi and breaking up bluetooth signal when waking the screen. I will probably continue to prioritize Android phones with the Blackberry software in the future because I love the hub and the calendar/contact/reminder integration.
The physical keyboard is also pretty ace.

Great review as usual but also quite long. I wish he would do some shorter ones but yeah his personal really shines in the long reviews.
I actually really like that they're long. It's part of what allows him to speak so freely. Also, no editing, which is nice.
He's definitely the reviewer I go to when I want to simply get unfiltered impressions about a phone.
By joefu Go To PostUh…I kinda want the Razer phone…
Do they make tablets? I might be interested in such a thing, but I'm not really into mobile gaming, so no way I'd get a gaming phone.

I think they did? but the phone
just looks like a nice phone. I play games occasionally, but not a focal point. I just like how simple it looks, the giant front facing speakers, and the price seems okay. I dunno. I guess for 100 more i could get a V 30.

I guess what I meant by that is that it would be a secondary phone for me because I'm not giving up Pixel's priority updates just to get a Razor. I say secondary because gaming is the only reason I would conceivably buy this phone while already owning another phone, and while it's certainly the best phone for gaming (from a hardware perspective), I'm not really into gaming on mobile to the point where I'd buy a phone for it.
Having said that, it does look like a great phone.
By Smokey Go To PostSecondary phone for mobile gaming?
Lol, it would be utterly ridiculous, I admit, but I can't think of another reason I'd get this phone. It's a hypothetical supposition after all. I'm not going to actually buy it. However, if I had money to burn...
By Mister0079 Go To Postrazer's products are shit. avoid. the phone will fall apart after a few months.
That would really suck for the people who plan to get this phone. Hopefully they improved things on that front this time.

Other reviewers are quite science-y. He gives great real life impressions.
Regarding tablets, is there anything decent out there that could beat my goat Nexus 7 2013? That thing still works relatively good for light usage but I'd like something new in that size department (or should I just grab an iPad mini)
By Kill Your Masters Go To PostTrue.

It seems like the NVIDIA Shield Tablet is still the best gaming tablet, unless I'm missing a key player in the market? I couldn't find anything about Razor tablets (though I didn't really look too hard).
By Kill Your Masters Go To PostTrue.I recently got an Ipad Pro for artwork and its really nice. Ipad mini/air is probably good too.

If he's referring to a general purpose tablet, I'd agree with these recommendations. If he wants a gaming tablet, I'd recommend the NVIDIA Shield Tablet K1 (which has Android 7 now and seems to be one of the few Android devices that is supported beyond a few generations of updates).
Thanks for the advice. Yeah I just want to upgrade my Nexus 7 to something new for just casual use, reading, browsing, that would be basically it. The N7 still works but not as smooth and it's stuck on 5.x or something. Gonna check the Shield and ipad minis out. Haven't really followed tablets lately.
So the Essential phone is 450 at best buy... that's a tempting price

By s y Go To PostYou could probably get the LG G6 for lower than that. That's what I have now lol. I'm really pissed that the vibration motor stopped working and since I bought it from Swappa I don't get warranty coverage. I just want to use something different right now.
There's nothing else wrong with my phone and I'm sure it's cheaper to send it in to get it fixed, but I still need a phone to use for the 2 weeks it takes for it to get fixed
By faceless Go To Postanother hat in the ring?
This is a really good ad. A bit long though.
Xiaomi just released the Mi Mix 2, with roughly the same design as last year's model, and is a pretty great device (Jordan is in the process of reviewing it). But it looks like another variation could be in the works, one that looks far more like an iPhone X. A few alleged pictures of the 'Mi Mix 2s' showed up Weibo (where else?), with a large cutout at the top.

that was fast!
Lol. It's the worst part about the X why copy it.

Starting with Chrome 64, which is currently in the Canary and Dev channels, the browser will block all redirects coming from third-party frames, unless the user had been previously interacting with the frame. In other words, unless you tap an area inside the ad, the redirect will be blocked. Instead, Chrome will show an info bar, letting you know that the redirect attempt was disabled.

Pixel 2 XL is good. Wanted to wait until out of honeymoon period. Screen is fine (for me). Everything still super snappy . Camera is gdlk. Would buy again. Only Google Android phones for me, here on out.
Looks like a pretty bad backdoor on OnePlus devices

My OnePlus 2 has been my phone for the past few months because the Nexus 6P battery shit the best. Shame about the "unkown" code they've been putting in those things.
Anyways I got my 2 XL on Saturday and I don't have any problems with it. Got it in a case, battery life is good. Android Auto works perfectly. Bluetooth connects quickly. The only issues is the screen protectors. I went through 3 different ones that didn't fit properly. The glass only stuck to the edges and wasn't contoured for the beveled edges. And the standard protectors just suck. Should have run a fake spot through them, even if they were verified purchases.
I've made it through one day at work and elsewhere without a protector. Let's see how long I can last.

I haven't bothered to get a case or a screen protector for my last three phones and haven't had any screen cracks or even scratches. I just don't carry anything else in my phone pocket and put it somewhere safe if I'm about to do something that could break it.
XZC is $500 at Best Buy... Only problem is it doesn't offer RAW support amongst other things. I'd go with an LG G6 or an Honor 9 but emulator support sucks on the 821 and Kirin 870. Huawei bastardized Android and sucks at OS updates as another bad thing about the device.
Needing a smartphone with my kameelah ass list makes buying devices huge time sinks as I research the negatives.

By Smokey Go To PostPixel 2 XL still legit
It cannot be legit when you have to choose between listening to music with your headphones or saving battery life, imho.
The OP5T looks nice but it's damn big and One Plus are deceitful as fuck. Flagships get two major OS updates. By not releasing the device with Oreo they're telling you it goes obsolete by early 2020 at the latest if it gets the OS update past Oreo at all. The next major One Plus device is not the one to buy anyway as the T version is the one to buy next fall anyways.

The Pixel 2 comes with USB C to headphone adapter and works fine. I use it everyday.

Oh I see what he's saying. I thought he was referencing the 'need' to use Bluetooth headphones.
Good news tho, the battery on the phone can easily last at least a day, and 15 mins of charge gets you about 7 hours of battery, according to Google!
