FORTNITEMARES UPDATE
Celebrated by all Fortnite players, the Fortnitemares update introduces all kinds of new terrifically terrifying Halloween content on Oct 26th.
BATTLE ROYALE - LEADERBOARDS & SEASON LEVELS
Leaderboards are finally here! Rank up against other players and friends in three categories
Seasons will give each player a chance to level-up their character and earn unique seasonal rewards and banner flair.
BATTLE ROYALE - ITEM SHOP & LOCKER
Explore a new and unique array of outfits, gliders and pickaxes in the item shop. Use V-bucks to purchase cosmetics in the store!
Players can customize their character’s appearance, choose their banner and equip any purchased cosmetics in the Locker.
Those battle royal updates sound great, was expecting to be able to get cosmetics from boxes by playing the game though so that’s a bummer.
By moop Go To PostIs this basically free for PS4? I'm so confused about how this game works…The PvP mode, Battle Royale is completely free. The PvE mode is the one that's sold for like $40. But that also includes Battle Royale in the package.
I can't wait for this!!!
It's a ton of fun. Cosmetics are going to make it even better.
By moop Go To PostDamn, free Battle Royale. I may go download this.

battle royale is pretty good but I don't really like the crafting piece even though that's the foundation of the gameplay

Edit: need to read the op shiiiiiiit
I wasnt a fan at first buts grown on me.

I'm trying man. I've been watching these cats play it on twitch and I'm in awe at how fast they build stairs and cover. I just gotta get used to the controls.
Sweet I have really been waiting for this. I have 2 wins in solo and 1 in duos but I have been kinda holding off until they add some more meat to the game mode.
Not sure if I will ever finish the save the world game, its pretty tedious.
Auto Pick Up! Yes I love this update already. Auto pickups for ammo, resources and traps.

By Smokey Go To PostGuess I'll try this on PC. Can't see it topping PUBG tho.
Probably not but this is a pretty big update for getting closer to what the game should be. They are working on vehicles now I guess as well.
Had it downloaded for a while now but only tried it for the first time. Might take a while to get used to the control scheme but I'm digging it so far.
Trying to persuade my friends to join in, can see how fun this can be.

By Smokey Go To PostGuess I'll try this on PC. Can't see it topping PUBG tho.I've played both. 195 hours in PUBG. 70ish hours in Fortnite.
I wouldn't say one tops the other. They both provide very different experiences.
PUBG is more of a realistic-type mil-sim, at least when it comes to the movement and gunplay. Much larger map. Vehicles to get around easier. Finding and securing a defensive location is crucial since having a superior position over your opponent grants you a big advantage.
Fortnite is a much more "arcadey" experience. Most guns are hitscan with RNG accuracy (minimized by crouching and not moving). The map is smaller so you run into people more often, which gives the game a faster pace than PUBG. It's much more difficult to camp in 1 place because cover\buildings\forts can be destroyed. The building mechanics have all sorts of uses. If someone starts shooting you in the back, it's great to drop a wall between the two of you in order to let you get a better position for a more even 1v1 fight. I also like building giant forts in the sky and shooting people down below with rockets.
Personally, I prefer Fortnite right now. I love the building mechanics, and I was getting a bit tired of the PUBG mid-game where I rarely ever saw enemies and would eventually get shot in the back by someone I didn't see.
Well shit exactly what I was waiting for outside of realistic ballistics. Time to go murder some virtual people again I guess. But PUBG did just implement first person squad for OCE as well...choices.
I have been playing this on and off, it's really fun my only real complaints is the overall RNG nature of the initial phase and the gameplay isn't as tight as it could be. Hopefully both things are improved as time goes on, the Halloween stuff seems cool too.
