The PS Vita |OT| It once gave us life
Even though the system is slowly winding down, it's still getting quite a few great games here and there, mostly from specialised outlets like Limited Run Games, Special Reserve Games and East Asia Soft for amongst others.
So I thought it might be a good idea to have a centralised thread for upcoming games.
And heck, for going back and playing some of the gems that this system brought us over it's lifetime.
Just today it was announced that Cursed Castilla is coming to the Vita on November 9 and that East Asia Soft will be releasing a limited physical edition that contains the following:
a copy of the game
full-color instruction booklet
56-track official soundtrack CD
32-page “Making of” photo book
individually numbered collector’s certificate
and a collector’s box
Preorders open November 1st and you can get $3 off when you use the coupon code “GEMATSU”.
Thanks to Gematsu for this info.

I got a vita a few months ago and it is amazing. Remote play makes it so much easier to use my ps4 aswell since I'm not tied down to a tv.
Too bad I have no actual vita games

Got the following on the go on vita :
Collar x Malice
Grand Kingdom
Dragon quest builders
Vita collection is probably the largest part of my collection overall. No idea when I will get through it D: just trying to plat Toukiden 2 as well.

ive somewhat given up buying new games on vita. Am too console focused lately.
Its an amazing machine still. I think mines dying. The battery is never accurate and jumps to 'low battery' then full charge all the time.
My charger is messed up too, like a rat has been chewing on it or something.

I just recently found out that keeping the system in sleep mode can be really bad for not only the battery but also the memory card, so perhaps that has something to do with it.
I'm a bit scared myself because I've always used sleep more and don't want that 64GB card to break down...
I have a serious backlog myself. Not just on this system, but overall. And this year with the crazy amount of fantastic games certainly hasn't helped. :)
I've yet to start Toukiden 2 myself. Loved the first one so much!
Be sure to give Nuclear Throne a try if you haven't already. It's one of my favourite games on the system.
It's a bit rough and the graphics aren't much to look at, but damn if it doesn't scratch that old-school arcade itch better that a ton of other games in the genre.
Also, if anyone is still looking for the Asian English release of Gundam Breaker 3 Break Edition, the one with all the DLC packs on the cart, Steve Lin at Heavy Arm Store still has a couple left. But I wouldn't sleep on it as they might not come back in stock again after this restock is sold out.
I ordered mine this weekend after waiting several months for a restock as I missed it's original print run.

My favorite handheld, it really sucks sony killed it for many. I still love it and buy games for it each month.
I absolutely love my vita. I bought it around December 2012, I also bought Gravity Rush with it (a series I adore). I always tried to buy as many vita games I could, both physically and digitally. It became my main console to play games on.
I'll be honest though, I haven't played it as much lately, and I don't think I've bought a new game for it at all this year. My PS4 and Switch have taken up most of my gaming time (and my money).
But I'm sure I'll return to my vita eventually! I have an huge backlog to get through on it.

I'm pretty much in the same boat.
Bought my Vita on September 21st 2013 for 200€ with the following games:
Killzone Mercenaries
WipEout 2048
Little Big Planet
Rachet & Clank Size Matters
Motorstorm R/C
I had been eyeing the system for a while at that point and it's always the WipEout games that pull me into the Sony systems.
Even though 2048 was a bit of a disappointment for me since I love a more pure style of WipEout, no pun intended. What I mean by that is the original trilogy and the two PSP games especially, even though I adore HD/Fury as well.
I quickly fell in love with the system and by the end of the month I had all these games:
Earth Defense Force 2017
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Touch My Katamari
Super Monkeyball Banana Split
Dynasty Warriors Next
Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention
Gravity Rush
Soul Sacrifice
It quickly became my favourite system of the generation, and made me miss out on quite a few 3DS games in the process.
But I've cough up with most of what I missed on there in 2016.
Yet, ever since the Switch came out I've barely touched my Vita. Not because I don't like it anymore, far from it. But because I have way too much stuff to play elsewhere and it doesn't seem to change any time soon. Certainly not this year.
Still have a ton of shrink-wrapped games that I really want to get to on my Vita, but I just don't have the time at this point.

Do! It's an excellent MonHun alternative. Quite fast paced and with some great monster designs. The community isn't super active but if you're located in a GMTish timezone there's always more of us ;D.

^ I've been lucky in that regard so far.
I really want to, but I have so much else to play. Still would like to finish Tales of the Abyss on 3DS before Xenoblade 2 comes out.
Not to mention having Persona 5 and even a huge part of 4 on my backlog and wanting to get into all the Shin Megami Tensei games that I have lying around as well.
Such a ridiculous problem to have. hehe
And I'm from Belgium btw, so that shouldn't be a problem. ;)

By moop Go To PostI have one. I adore it. It's covered in dust. I can't bring myself to sell it. I adore it.I thought about selling mine but then remembered that would leave me unable to play Lumines : Electric Symphony so that thing will never get sold.
Has there been any news on VA-11 HALL-A? I know its supposed to come out soon but have they said any thing about europe?
Persona 4 on Vita saved me my sanity on so many delayed flights. Love the Vita really, shame there wasn't more games for it.
Having not bought anything for Vita in what seems like an age, I got a physical copy of Danganronpa V3 after the PC version was announced prior to release to be crazy expensive. A week or so after release, the Vita version all but disappeared from the usual online stores. With how NISA have been talking lately about their dwindling support for Vita physical releases, I don't expect it to get a reprint, so in a strange way I'm grateful for it being so pricey on PC otherwise I wouldn't have bothered with the Vita version.
I have a pstv and the lack of compatibility is just staggering. I don't understand why they didn't do more to create a compelling device. It barely supports vita games, it barely supports ps1 games... the OS was not made for a tv screen, low resolution.. etc etc. It's a damn shame. Hope it's fine to post about this in here since it's essentially a screen less vita, that doesn't support most that vita does.
It's nice to have for remote play though.

I still have mine, I don't play it but I can't bear to part with it.

Earlier this year, when I I had been sucked into the PS4 version of Diablo 3, I was remoting in every day into my PS4.
I picked up one of these and haven't looked back! It not only helps with those titles that use default Remote Play controller settings, but PSOne (will always be "PSX" to me) games, as well. Well, other Vita games, too, I'm sure, but I've not used it with any so far.

There's lots of secrets tucked away and the game has a difficulty curve worth coming back to. Sadly, I've never gotten to the Nuclear Throne. /sadFace

The thing that has always bugged me about Nuclear Throne is how it's never received parity with the PC version. Moreso the Vita port, because it's never been updated. The PS4 version got a sizable update maybe a year ago, but that's it.
I bought my Vita pretty much to only play Gravity Rush and Persona 4 Golden. I feel I definitely got my moneys worth with those 2 games alone and everything else has been the icing on the cake. It helps that I have been redeeming PS Plus games for the Vita when they started even though I just got my Vita earlier this year. The switch has been getting more of my time lately but I intend on going back to play Persona 3, I just got burned out playing Persona 4 Golden and jumping straight Persona 3.

Being a huge retro gamer myself.
But I've seen a ton of people pass it up on looks alone. :-/
By meppi64 Go To PostBut I've seen a ton of people pass it up on looks alone. :-/Well, now I'd hardly call them "people," then. :P
I remember reading something about how the developer of Nuclear Throne lost his/her Vita code and that's why we've never seen an update. Anyone else heard/read something similar? I'll have to do a search for this on the World Wide Web...
I still have my old 1000, i really need to get a 2000 to get those triggers but i cant seem to part with it.

That's the first thing I heard about it personally but I haven't been following up on them.
Last I heard was that the Limited Run Games edition was pushed back so that it would include the long awaited patch, but that seems like ages ago now.
And I've since been told that Limited Run Games releases don't bother including patches in their games anymore, so that makes the whole preservation part of their project a little less accurate.
By Bold 2 in One Go To PostI still have mine, I don't play it but I can't bear to part with it.
Have memory cards gotten to a reasonable price yet?
Here in the Netherlands they have been sold out for a while now. Sadly earlier this year one shop sold all their supplies for 99 cents but scalpers got them all :(
To make things even worse,My 64 GB was dying 2 months ago, the only option right was to buy an expensive 4/8/16 GB second hand one or import one from Japan.
The 64 GB card stopped giving errors after I formatted it but I still opted to buy a second hand 8 GB one just to make sure I'm more future proof.
Even though my handheld gaming slightly moved to my Switch I still adore both my Vita's (Europe 1000 + JP 2000 edition).
There's an SD card adaptor for the vita if you're struggling to find memory cards. I think it might only work if you're using henkaku though.
Just got this one in:
Really happy with it as well as I've heard that the European version seems to be really hard to find only weeks after it's release.
Luckily a local shop had a couple of copies left, which is surprising and no one stocks Vita games here anymore.
And I just received news that my copy of Gundam Breaker 3 Break edition should be underway as well. :D

I'm on of the few people in my gaming group that has a Vita (a working Vita). No store in the area sells new Vita games, and if there is a new one it's usually only 1 or two copies. Even the CEX near me has about 5 or so Vita games. Using mine on the train to play The Wolf Among Us on my commute, such a brilliant game.

Enjoy Kodaka-san's wild ride, it's something else.
Oh I will! :)
It's just going to have to wait a little bit as I have way too many things to play at the moment.
Also just got these in:
Really happy to finally have Break Edition as well as I really love the Gundam Breaker games and have been importing them from the day the first one released on PS3. Such a fun series. Such a shame it never gets an opportunity in the west.
Just looked up The Wolf Among Us and I didn't even know that it got a physical release in the US!
Looks to be quite cheap as well. So I'll pick it up for sure, but not right now as I already spent way too much money on games this month.

Ah, Spelunky is perfect on the Vita.
Such a pick up and play game!
I'm hoping that we'll see a LRG release one day even though that chance seems to be rather slim at this point.

Vita has been my main console for the past year, playing in bed > not playing in bed. I haven't felt the need to get a Switch because of it. I've had my 1000 for four years now, and I'll probably still be playing it for a while yet. I only just got into the Danganronpa series.
By TheMikado Go To PostI still have my old 1000, i really need to get a 2000 to get those triggers but i cant seem to part with it.I was real hesitant to jump to the 2000 series from my 1000, but I did make the plunge (it was the Borderlands bundle). I am super happy I did. The 1000 would make my hands hurt, but the 2000 is comfortable and light. I thought losing OLED was going to be a bigger deal than it was; mind you, I did miss it, but the LCD does a good job and I soon forgot about even caring about the differences.
It's cold and rainy and I had a crazy week and I have zero desire to go outside today. I'm just going to stay in bed & play Phantasy Star IV on the PSP Genesis Collection all day.
Was playing Danganronpa school mode. 'Battery low' message comes on, but I'm like "it's good, PS button will start blinking when it's serious."
20 mins later whoosh, power goes dead, no blinks. Minor panic attack when I realize I haven't saved in hours.
Rush to plug it back in. Couple of minutes later it's back on, and the game starts right back up where it was. Crisis averted. I don't know how long I would have put this game down for if I had to do all of that again. Weird how inconsistent the power light can be though.

customization is deep if you wanna go crazy.
By DY_nasty Go To Postso how is gb3 anyways? Its great if you like being creative and building designing robots. Combat is shallow but its dumb fun. I recommend it if you dont mind grinding parts and spending a lot of time building gunpla. if you cant do it in real life, this is a close substitute.
