Love Plex. It simplifies a lot over XBMC for me and the auto cataloging and metadata lookup is great.

- I've been using Plex since what, around 2014-15? Was using XBMC/now Kodi, but syncing databases on every clients (Linux, RPi, etc) was not the most optimal way to operate. The Plex Server being the central point for the metadata is the best solution for me atm. There's also Emby-Server but it's too buggy (using ArchLinux).

I'm not a fan of Emby. It does integrate a bit better with autodownloading stuff like Sickbeard and whatnot, but Plex has apps on damn near everything.
