So is anyone else running a Plex server?
I currently have one with about 700+ movies and a few different TV shows. I'm willing to give free access to anyone that wants it and they create a user at plex.tv.

Love Plex. It simplifies a lot over XBMC for me and the auto cataloging and metadata lookup is great.

If you want access to my Plex server just PM me your Plex name and I’ll add you to it.
I've only been using Plex for about a year now, not quite sure how I managed without it. Currently have it running off my PC but would love to get it up and running on a NAS capable of hardware transcoding.

That’s what I’m currently doing, since a lot of my friends and family use my server to watch movies and stuff.

I have to admit the idea of using Plex to stream over the internet is a bit of a foreign concept to me. I have a fairly vast library of TV shows and movies already and I like being able to Direct Play to all devices in my house.

But seriously, shoot me your username on Plex and I’ll grant you access to my server, so you can see what the hubbub is about.

I'll take you up on your offer. I just started using Plex on a seedbox. Dipping my toes into the pool but I don't know enough about servers to know what a fair deal in renting one looks like (icluding specs).
By Script Kiddies LLC Go To PostIf you want access to my Plex server just PM me your Plex name and I’ll add you to it.Oh! Let's trade access to our Plexes. I'm not actively adding new stuff since my storage drives are full (8 TB) but hey, you might find something that you'll like.
- I've been using Plex since what, around 2014-15? Was using XBMC/now Kodi, but syncing databases on every clients (Linux, RPi, etc) was not the most optimal way to operate. The Plex Server being the central point for the metadata is the best solution for me atm. There's also Emby-Server but it's too buggy (using ArchLinux).
I have been using Plex on my Apple TV Gen 4 for the last year and it works absolutely wonderful.
I have a lot of official iTunes 1080p movies that I put on my external HDD which is constantly connected through my iMac.
The automatic library scanning and having series being categorized into Seasons works like a charm.
I can never go back to anything else.

I'm not a fan of Emby. It does integrate a bit better with autodownloading stuff like Sickbeard and whatnot, but Plex has apps on damn near everything.
Just PM me and I'll add you on.
