Canada | OT | Sorey Not Sorey, Eh?

I'm not sure how many of us are Canadian here, but I thought it'd be good to have a thread to talk about Canadian things -- game deals, politics, Canadian tingz, it's a tree no forest, etc.
Plus, if anyone here is planning a trip hopefully a lot of us can provide some insight about things to do, places to see, and what coffee establishments to avoid (Tim Horton's is some nasty 'coffee' bruh, we hate it now).
Also, a good place to discuss why we love Canada and why it's the best (Sorey).

By Nobility Go To PostWhat kind of thread is this? One where we talk shit about the quality of Tim Horton's coffee.
Sorry, eh
Me: 'Oh, you like coffee?'
Others: 'Yeah, I love Timmies dbl dbls'
Me: 'I hate you'
By Congo Jack Go To PostMcDonalds > Timmies. Tim Hortons coffee is basic and the food is trash tierMcDonald's coffee is legit. Second Cup is pretty legit too.
I'll never understand people who vouch for Timmies double double -- that shit is just sugar water.
Canada Thread woot!
Also I had a chocolate velvet muffin from tims a few weeks ago and it was simply splended
That being said i actually do like double doubles, but they have been lessening in quality quite a bit over the past 4 years
By Congo Jack Go To PostMcDonalds > Timmies. Tim Hortons coffee is basic and the food is trash tierTheir donuts are pretty dope though.

Timmies is just flat out nasty. Laxative coffee, frozen donuts, cheap lunch-meat sandwiches. McDonalds coffee is better but lets not pretend it's good.
Eh.
Eh.
Timmies is ok but mediocre. McDonald's outclasses it by far. I mean yeah neither is "good" coffee, but when I buy coffee from a fast food restaurant, I'm not exactly expecting coffeehouse quality. Timbits are the bomb though.
Finally, a home, eh. And def hoodie season out here. At least don't got bust the toques out quite yet.

By Serrato Go To PostHello follow Canadians! A lot from Québec?Welcome! I’m from Ontario, love Montreal though! Been there three times now.
Nice! I've only been once to Toronto but it was a nice trip. Montréal is litteraly where I go work everyday so for me it's kind of my turf.

Repping best city (Toronto) but moved to Texas this year to marry and be with my wife. Shit is nuts down here, so much food and not to be rude, but there is definitely a bigger scale of larger people to average/slim. It's really odd.
What I miss the most is the bigger cultural mix that Toronto was. Texas has been fantastic though, it's definitely rising up the ranks :p

I never got why those Goose jackets got so popular. They look like something that would be handed to you at a government polar installation.
Down/feather-filled anything is totally legit for warmth and comfort tbh.
I'm from Manitoba, but I wish I weren't.

So says almost everyone I've ever met from Manitoba. You guys need to stimulate your image some how, maybe move your economy over to making products for weeaboos or some crazy shit like that, you know, really stir the pot up a bit.
I love meeting other people from prairie provinces, as it always ends in an argument over which one is worse (I'm from Sask so I think I win)
By Congo Jack Go To PostI love meeting other people from prairie provinces, as it always ends in an argument over which one is worse (I'm from Sask so I think I win)I admit I have a hard time describing the Prairie outside of saying ''uh... it's... uh... Prairies?''
McDonald's coffee when fresh is amazing but I feel like they don't re-fill enough to keep things fresh. Starbucks is obviously the best tho.
An email was sent out at work about etiquette at work, we had a section about the washrooms to remind people to wash their hands and not spit on walls.
People are dirty AF.
People are dirty AF.
We had a sign put up after there was shit smeared all over urinal walls and the mirrors 'please inform management right away if restrooms are unsanitary'. But no one trying to do anything about there being a worker who purposely does something like that.
I am very much not Canadian, but I wanted to chime in on a topic I've been reading and listening to podcasts about: World War I. As an American, we pretty much gloss over that war in our history books, even though we got involved at the end and in the Treaty of Versailles. Nonetheless, time and time again I read/hear how tide-turning the Canadian forces were. The book I just finished, The World Undone by G.J. Meyer, has a real celebratory part at the end about Arthur Currie that really left a mark on me. In it he writes,
With Armistice Day coming up real soon, I thought it worth sharing how a Yankee like me was moved by the part your country played in WWI, as well as impressed by the bravery of those that fought and gave their lives to The Great War.
By G.J. MeyerThe comparatively brilliant Arthur Currie of the Canadian Corps… faded into inexplicably deep obscurity. His name does not appear in the Macmillian Dictionary of the First World War, a heft volume that gives substantial attention to the likes of Admiral Alexander Kolchak and Ante Trumbic of Croatia. Nor is it listed in the 834-page Harper Encyclopedia of Military Biography.

So, Freedom mobile is going to sell all the new iPhones at $0 for a 2 year term, with $65 for 10GB at starting. More competition please.
Yeah Ford is going to set back Ontario for a long time. In a best case scenario he'll just delay stuff. But more likely, things like the morally repugnant elimination of the UBI pilot project in Hamilton.
I moved to Nova Scotia after 20+ years in Toronto just as that clown was getting elected, that was my one silver lining of the election. But he'll be bad for all of Canada. Proof that we are not immune to nativist populist fuckwits up here.
