This is a pickup from last month, but one I'm so happy with.
It's actually a donation from a very generous person in the UK that sent these over to scan and restore so I can release digital copies on my site.
About 200 UK Nintendo magazines.
The complete set of Nintendo Official Magazine from EMAP in the 90's besides the Nintendo Magazine System run:
Nintendo Magazine System (Issues 1-53)
Nintendo Magazine (Issues 54-68)
Nintendo Official Magazine (Issues 69-131)
Nintendo Official Magazine UK (Issues 132-151)
Nintendo Official Magazine (Issues 152-162)
And about 30 Official Nintendo magazines from the Wii years.
Also picked up the final Club Nintendo issues that I was missing to have the complete run.

Picked up this up about two months ago. The now out of print Deluxe Special Edition of Salem's Lot by Stephen King, published by Cemetery Dance! Pretty steep price, but I'm such a huge fan of King that I just had to add this to my collection.
The book comes with a really nice slipcase. Inside, the pages are a thick specialty paper and there are quite a few new illustrations of important scenes added in, as well as a map of Salem's lot itself. It also has a new introduction from King, some deleted scenes, 2 short stories that serve as a prequel and a sequel, an afterword, and an essay from Clive Barker about vampire mythology and how it ties in to the story.
Absolutely loving this thing :)

By meppi64 Go To PostLots of Nintendo magazines.
That is really cool.
I wish someone would do that with Playstation mags. I have always wanted to reread one that had a picture of Olga from MGS2 on the front titled "Daughter of Liberty" from before the launch.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostThat is really cool.Sadly, I don't have any Playstation magazines myself anymore.

The ones I did have were local Dutch magazines most of the time so those were not much use to anyone outside the Benelux.
And for some reason they were never written in the same vein as Nintendo or Sega magazines so they were a lot less fun to read.
So I dropped those and started buying Computer & Videogames Magazine and EGM instead.
It's a bit weird. Even though I loves all my playstations, I've always been drawn more to Sega and Nintendo magazines myself.

You know of any sites that do it for PS?
Pretty cool you completed your collection.
Sadly, never read anything other than PS or game masters.
By meppi64 Go To PostThis is a pickup from last month, but one I'm so happy with.Damn dude, that's nice!, if you need a help with cleanups on damaged/stained scans I'd chip in, spent quite a while doing such work in the scanlation scene back in the day.

But the quality of the scans can very a lot.

I'm on my own right now as the other people that helped out over the years have moved on due to life getting in the way.
I do have a very particular way of doing these, so we might have to be careful not to use techniques that make them look like they have been cobbled together from different sources.
But even then, just stain and spot removal would go a long way I think.
One problem that might pop up is sending files back and forward. Since I'm working with lossless TIFF files, a single magazine tends to run from 2,5GB upwards to 4GB, which might be troublesome to upload and download.
Once they are finished, I run them though a specialised batch transformer with certain settings to get the brightness, saturation, contrast and colours as close to the original physical magazine as possible.
I created a small feature a couple of years ago to give people an look behind the scenes of how I do things:
http://www.outofprintarchive.com/articles/features/out-of-print/the_restoration_process.html
A single 100 page magazine takes me between 40-60 hours to complete on average, depending on condition.
And yeah, I tend to go a bit overboard to get them to look like they are brand new again. ;)
So I fully understand if you don't want to jump into this insanity filled rabbit hole. :p
An example of what I did last month:
And a crazy restoration I did a couple of years ago.
That last one took a couple of days to complete.
You can find everything I've done so far in the catalogue section of the site. Each magazine page has different download options.
Max-Rez versions are the best quality ones with the least amount of compression and near original resolution.

If a file is unavailable, just let me know and I'll re-upload them.
