By reilo Go To PostThese basketball scenes 🤦🏼♂️
Why do they look like they're playing in Hoosiers? A movie about highschool bball in 1955?
By Laboured Go To PostI am too and I just find a lot of it shoe-horned and fan-service-y. I don't mind the production design which does really look very authentically 80s but it goes hard over the top with it especially with various media references. That's kinda of the point of the show tho...it's a huge 80s jerkfest and I enjoy it for what it is...
Felt like they put more effort into that than the story.
Also they are getting great performances from child actors that's a rarity in itself...

I honestly feel like the kids gave much better acting performances than the adults, full stop.
By BKatastrophe Go To PostI still don’t see why episode 7 is so bad. The gang is corny, but the rest is good shit. It's so disjointed and has nothing to do with the story besides the 1 Yoda moment...
By reilo Go To PostThe fuck is the point of BillyTo have a human bully with spectacular hair?
By blackace Go To PostTo have a human bully with spectacular hair?Way better hair than the bully in IT.
They're absolutely gonna try to redeem Billy, Steve-style.
I think that's why they didn't go full raging racist with him and fleshed out his shady home life a bit. They'll try to make him a sympathetic character moreso next go 'round. I'd love to be wrong about that tbh.

I figured that was coming in the last episode but I am sure it is coming in Season 3. I just finished it last night. Steve is my favorite character for sure but I love them all.
I hope they dont lean on Will again being possessed or something nuts next season. The kid (and his mom) has been through enough!
I just finished ep 7 last night. I wouldn't say it's terrible. It exemplified her choice nicely enough for who she wants to become. The issue I had was simply episodic pacing. They could have split that up some into multiple episodes. Instead we leave episode 6 in a virtual cliff hanger and on high suspense only to start episode 7 on a totally separate emotional path for the viewer. The fact that I don't have to wait a week for a new episode makes this worse. Netflix almost seamlessly blends the episodes together. So it's super jarring since the pace is fairly steady the rest of the way.
Its crazy how easy it is to binge Stranger Things
Watched the first season in 2 chunks, and the same for the second

My wife and I have been watching together. She fell asleep at the very end of episode 7 and thought I continued on to watch 8 without her (I didn't). Then she texts me major shit that happens in 8 today spoiling me.

Episode 7 was absolutely pointless, luckily for my gf who fell asleep.
Liked this season, thought the first was so much better. Really don’t understand what the point of Max and her brother was. Her character only seems to exist so that Ele could have her Magneto First Class moment. Her brother is to make everyone feel bad for Steve, first he loses his girl then gets his ass beat by his ex-girls future stepdad

She added a level of youth drama/love to a group of young boys. Jealousy, trust etc

I didn't even care for the show overall, but I actually agree with this, lol.
El's soul-searching journey was far more interesting to me than the stupid possessed Will plot that just went on for forever.
Great season IMO. I didn't really get the complaints that it was slower than the first season. It kept me hooked the entire way through. I loved the 80's references. LOVED THEM! The scene when Steve and Dustin are walking along the train tracks talking about girls while going on their missions reminded me so much of stand by me.
I also liked episode 7. I didn't think it was a waste at all. I loved that arc for El. I didn't like the way they shoved the episode in between two intense episodes as I feel it messed up the seasonal pacing. We're all binge watching and the jarring pace change was super evident. The content was good though.
The basket ball scenes were also hilarious. I wonder how many times he tried that through the leg lay up. lol
For some reason I thought this was the last season, but the way it ended had me looking online and it seems a season 3 is coming? I'm already eagerly awaiting ...

Ep 7 is a very powerful character episode for El beyond just a "Yoda moment." Boiling it down to that is reductive and disingenuous. Not to mention Kali as a character is very well-built. When she cries as El leaves…that shit was heavy. El's arc doesn't work without that episode.

Just finished the season. Bob really is the mvp. And Steve is awesome. Loved his character growth this season. He took the L like a champ.
finished season 2.
episode 6 and 8 were my favorite.
episode 7 though pivotal, i wasn't too fond of the script.
I kinda wished they had a bigger role for Kali in the last episode, like teaming up with EL and using their powers to
fight off the Demodogs.
that would've been a way cooler alternative instead of her being just Yoda
#team bob here as well
