Gran Turismo Sport | OT | Downsizing, It's Not Just for Engines.
I picked up the Limited Edition copy the other day. Love buying steelbook covers for some reason. I've barely played it, but the physics are dramatically different, again, this time around. You can seriously feel the weight of each car. And if you've been reading that SixAxis motion controls are really good, it's true...it's damn true. I couldn't believe the accuracy myself. It does feel a little weird still hitting buttons to brake and accel as you steer, but it feels a lot more natural sometimes than using the sticks.
I will say this, it's wonderful to look at on the PS4. But this is the game that you should jump into the PS4 Pro with. And I'm contemplating it.

I've been enjoying this a ton. Hopping between the sport races, campaign training, and scapes mode has been fun for me. The thing with GT is I start seeing the driving line in the real world with my piece of shit car and scapes mode makes me want to actually start using my camera again. Few other games do anything like that for me.
By Smokey Go To PostI have it. Reference material for HDR and "4k" this gen, imo.
I agree. It's making me think about taking the plunge into a Pro.

It's legit af.
I haven't played much outside of completing the first 6 or 7 tests. Wanted to play online , but I guess you have to watch a fucking video first?

It's only like 5 minutes, I just did something else while they played.
By rvy Go To PostSo is this game mostly online or what's the deal? I don't like online. The game requires an online connection, not PS+. Even for the single player stuff. So if you keep your PS4 disconnected, this isn't the game for you.
I'm predominantly a single player gamer. I'm really enjoying GT Sport. The Mission Challenges and Circuit Experience segments of the campaign are excellent. The thing that makes it really addictive is the on-track experience. It's simply the best on-track experience I've had on the consoles. The physics, the graphics, and presentation, the engine sounds, and the music all come together beautifully. Also, the emphasis on clean racing is really refreshing.
I haven't even tried the online multiplayer yet and I absolutely love the game. The scapes mode is zen inducing!
Hey, just wondering - but anyone here formerly from neogaf have the gaf racing / gran turismo discord?
in anycase, waiting for my racing wheel converter to ship in, I have a thrustmaster TX xbox one that i need it for in order to use it for gt sport.

Same here. I've already got a 4K screen but it's not true HDR(RTings says it doesn't support "wide color gamut" whatever that means) but it still looks amazing even at 1080p.
I really need to get PS+ so I can play online lol.

By rvy Go To Postso you can buy this to play mostly offline and you're still good? I really thought it was mostly online so I had no interestIf you're expecting the 1000+ hour campaign of the past GTs where you collect many cars... you'll hate it. That's not in the game. The single player campaign that is there is probably about 15-20 hours. And the emphasis is on teaching you to become a better racer.
You start with one car. And then you can choose between the driving school, mission challenges, or the circuit experience segments of the campaign. You can do them in any order. As you complete the events in each segment, you earn experience points that allow you to level up your driver, mileage points that can be used to get cars and accessories, and in-game money that can be used in Brand Central to buy more cars.
The expectation is that after you're done with the campaign, you're ready for the online competition. Many people who absolutely hate online gaming have been converted to love GTS. I think it deserves a shot at least.
Edit:
The online multiplayer seems to have the tournaments and cups that people loved about the prior GTs. So things of the old GTs are still there in some form, but some of them are online.
By Smokey Go To PostI have it. Reference material for HDR and "4k" this gen, imo.yup lighting is phenomenal
Will be on this as soon as I get my interface hack working to use my old DFGT wheel on it, since I spent a lot of time modding it and putting a better wheel on and such.

By NicasDream Go To PostHave you tried putting control sensitivity up?no I haven't. So far everything is default except for the controls.
They changed up all the daily races on Sunday which was very welcome. I've yet to have my first victory racing in online Sport mode. It's as elusive as coming out on top in PUBG. :)
