Not surprising since this alone could help bolster the cities economy. I hope Amazon picks a city that needs the support and flood of new jobs and people.
Some cities, like Boston, have published the entirety of their proposal. Others, like Stonecrest, Ga., have used the opportunity to earn 15 minutes of fame by offering to rename their city “Amazon” if they win. Even federal lawmakers that are responsible for regulating Amazon — and some who have been critical of the company — have been part of the pitches.

By TheMikado Go To PostSo what were the finalists?
A quote from a linked article:
That might be easiest in Washington, D.C, Atlanta, Raleigh, Austin and Boston, which were the top places in the U.S. — besides the Bay Area, Seattle and New York City, which we didn’t include for obvious reasons — for tech talent, according to real estate research firm CBRE’s 2017 Scoring Tech Talent report. They are looking at accessibility, public transits, tax breaks, etc. Which makes sense in terms of deciding where to set up.
They haven't said anything-- its all speculation from analysts.
Not surprised, it'd be a huge boost for any local economy.

They're just fishing around for a city that will subsidize them and give the highest tax break. I'm curious if Amazon will eventually break into the pharma business, been noticing big name pharm store stock dropping due to rumors of it.
Charlotte and the RTP are both bidding for it. I say split the difference and go to Greensboro/Winston-Salem, who is also bidding for it. Metro size fits, it sits between and can draw from both Charlotte and Raleigh, and has several nearby colleges and universities to provide educated workers. I don't think it will go there, though.
So... Amazon, come to Charlotte.
