By RedPanda Go To PostGoing to get this even though I don't want to live in a camper. Why wouldn't you want to live in heaven?
My girlfriend has never played Animal Crossing. I've thought about introducing her to the GC version (which I still own), but now I'm thinking this would be a good starting point for her.
The game looked more like the main series than I expected. I was expecting something much simpler.
Not sure my phone will be able to play it, though.

By Bam Go To PostDid they say you can finally pick your skin color? About damn time if soYeah, you can.
THIS IS... pretty good looking! I wasn't sold in the first minute and got nervous, but they demonstrated it quite well as time went on and showed a lot more depth than I'd initially expected. I really don't mind the timers just because that's kind of how I expect Animal Crossing to be, so all in all, this feels promising. Looking forward to launch.
I'm so ready for this. This Direct confirmed most things I wanted. I wanted it to have 3D visuals reminiscing that of New Leaf, free movement and access to friends' islands and got it all. I can deal with the microtransactions and timers.
By dude44 Go To PostThat was awful. It sucks seeing one of my favorite franchises pumped full of microtransactions.
? Honestly the microtransactions look super unintrusive

Pre-register for iOS is currently only via Nintendo Account possible
A big ol' sloppy thanks to you!
I hope stuff like the honey to attract bugs and the fishnet make it into the next main game. They seem really useful.
By SpottieO Go To Post? Honestly the microtransactions look super unintrusiveYeah, I agree. Animal Crossing was built for 'do a thing, walk away for awhile' gameplay, which means I won't have to spend anything and still have a ton of fun.
I could not be happier with how this is looking. The only thing I'm nervous about is how it will run on my phone. The app before Mario...uh, Mii-something or other, ran horribly, so it wasn't much fun to play.

Everyone cool with avatar quotes here or are we leaving that tradition behind?
By dude44 Go To PostThat was awful. It sucks seeing one of my favorite franchises pumped full of microtransactions.I get you, but this looks pretty tame. As long as Nintendo making honey in these things leads to bigger and better things on their dedicated hardware front, I'm not too bothered by it. If they decided to replace AC proper with this...well, then I'd flip the tea table.
By TI92 Go To Postgoogle play says its free with inapp purchasesThere ya have it. Microstations ain't gonna temp me even once
By dude44 Go To PostThat was awful. It sucks seeing one of my favorite franchises pumped full of microtransactions.I’m not sure what you were expecting honestly. I didn’t think they looked too bad given it’s a mobile game. Still expecting a fully fledged switch version next year with the odd micro transaction or extra level dlc attached.
By dude44 Go To PostThat was awful. It sucks seeing one of my favorite franchises pumped full of microtransactions. It's basically a normal AC, but you can pay for things with real money if you want to. If you're used to AC, I don't see why you would ever feel like you need to use money.

I'm not the camping type. I also don't like how everything is kinda sprawled out in the open. Why is the TV outside.
As someone who has had an iPhone since it launched in 2007, and bought his first iPhone game on day one of the App Store (Crash Racing, I think)... I couldn't care less about mobile games. I've played KOTOR because it's my favorite game of all time. But while I have nothing *against* mobile games - they just don't scratch the right itch. Typically if I have 4 or 5 minutes, I'm gonna browse the internet or check FB/Snap. Animal Crossing, though? That's the perfect game for mobile. The first minute or so of the Direct scared me - looked very small/barebones - but by the end I was hyped. This looks like the best use of mobile, yet.

When they first showed it I was a bit bummed because I love decorating my house in these, and it's a little weird to have that stuff outside, but then when they showed off that sweet, sweet camper I was sold.
That looked way better than I thought it would. Think it's gonna be another money printer for Nintendo.

Yeah, the first minute just showing the camping plot I was like, 'uh oh, this looks awful', but there ended up being a lot more depth there.
I like the look of HD res Animal Crossing graphics but I hope the eventual Switch AC game gets an aesthetic bump as well. I want something with a little more detail and texture.

I dunno, I guess I don't like the whole campsite thing, and how every different activity is sectioned off instead of it all being in one town. I really hope they do announce a switch version. I'm probably not going to play this, but it's nice to see so many people happy about Animal Crossing.
By LuigiV Go To PostI wasn't even thinking about this when I made my avatar. I don't mind, it's hilarious.

New Leaf was my first Animal Crossing game and having a mobile version of the game is a good fit. I would normally pick it up and put it down once or twice a day. Do a few things and save up some money. Having a mobile version sounds a great time waster. I'll definitely be trying it out when it launches.

I hope the lighting gets an overhaul in the Switch version as well.
I'm gonna assumehope that character customization as shown in this title will be similar to the Switch version so my villager don't have to get a tan just to match my skin color. Looks like a neat title that I also hope won't be that bad of a battery chugger.

Gotcha. Yeah, I wish it were more open instead of segments, but it is just the mobile game, and they have to save some stuff for the next console game.
I wonder how they are going to tie this into the next game?
By Method Go To PostThey said late NovemberCool, thanks dude
This looks like it has the potential to be pretty fun, as long as I can play without having to spend lots of money. I really enjoyed New Leaf on my 3DS. Fishing and catching bugs was my favorite activity, and paired with headphones, the soundtrack was instant stress relief for me.
Just watched it, looked neat. Never played an Animal Crossing game so this will be a nice taste for when the Switch version comes out. Hopefully this grabs my attention, Mario Run didn’t past the first world, Fire Emblem I never even tried, and Miitomo I used for 8 months before dropping it.
Glad people are looking the look of it, sounds like I might be best off not showing my GF if it's going to drain her purse that much though!
Tweeted this out earlier and one of my friends, who I didn't know even played Animal Crossing, got really excited. This could be huge if Nintendo plays their cards right. Hell I'm surprised how close it is to a full game.
By tanuki Go To PostThat looked way better than I thought it would. Think it's gonna be another money printer for Nintendo.
Tom Nook really should be the face of all of Nintendo's DLC or microtransaction stuff lol. He is PERFECT, that crap is exactly the kind of thing he would be doing. It makes light of the 'please give us all your money' thing, of course he would be trying to bleed us out of every penny. :P I even used him for our 'You break it you buy it' sign in my store haha.
I would still much prefer a console/handheld title, but I actually enjoyed that Direct. I will definitely give this a try when it's released.
