By Hammer24 Go To PostX preordered. Can't wait.Wish I could afford it. I'm stuck on 900p like a god damn peasant.
I was trying not to pre-order the X and then I saw the video of how much better Mordor looks on it and it's got me fiending.
Not that interested in the Xbone X unless it does some cool shit with the 360 / OG Xbox emulation.
I am pretty interested in Lucky's Tale tho. That devteam pedigree wow

I have a One X preordered, but I'm flaking on it. Preordered Scorpio edition from Amazon, but there still isn't a ship date. This was a big concern of folks in the One X thread on gaf and Amazon hasn't been the most reliable as of late. I may end up cancelling it only to buy it from Best Buy who has been pretty great. Plus I'd get points from the purchase as well.
By Silky Go To PostI am pretty interested in Lucky's Tale tho. That devteam pedigree wowI used credit card reward points to pre-order a copy for free. It looks like a lot of fun, honestly.
Today is supposed to kick of the marketing for One X btw, commercial to debut during Walking Dead premiere. Teaser

Will look nice on me OLED.

By rodeoclown Go To PostI saw some Halo 5 in that teaser.
Smokey, Halo 5 in 4K.
Right.
PS4 Pro looks really good on my OLED, and One X will probably take it up a notch. I don't expect Halo 5 too look like a whole new game or anything, but it's great that it's getting the update.
I basically expect it to look like Forge on PC. That's not a bad thing.
I'm curious if 343 can use the X to get Halo 2 Anniversary running at an actual HD resolution.

I put my OG Xbox One up for sale on Ebay towards the POWAH X, and I am getting no views or bids. Sums up the year so far

Don't know if this deserves its own post or not but an international version of the Xbox One X trailer just went live. Sorry for double post but wanted to bump thread.

Deal……. (wait, a minute)
Ended up putting some money aside for an X since I wanted Cuphead and a few other things (My PC ain't shit) and figured I'd go big and wait for the X instead of picking up an S model now. Should be some fun stuff.

I used to be all about Amazon for video game releases, but, like you said, they've become wholly unreliable. GCU just hammers Amazon into the ground with the all-the-time discount on sealed games, plus their $10 bonus promotions.
I got my Scorpio Edition from Best Buy, of course, and and am anxiously awaiting the Pro/XBX comparisons to flood out. I've been so ingrained in the PlayStation ecosystem this gen, though. I fired up my Xbox One yesterday and was taken aback by the new UI. The Home Button guide is nice, but everything else just feels clunky and unwieldly. A complaint I've had about the Xbox One's UI forever now. I don't understand Microsoft's goal with it.
Has Cuphead been confirmed to take advantage of the Xbox One X? Or aren't all games, rather, unlike the PS4 Pro?

I'm on GCU, I just preordered Scorpio on Amazon first since they were first to get it.
All games One X enhanced games played on a 1080p screen get auto downsampling and I believe 16x AF, however there will need to be a patch to enable 4k support for games already out.
I honestly don't know where GamingGAF is, doesn't seem like as many of them made it to SL&ENT as OfftopicGAF.
Just waiting on EB Games Aus midnight launch to pickup that sweet X1X. Damn shame no new Halo campaign game to go along with it though.
Now this is what I wanted to see. Halo 3, Oblivion, Fallout 4 and Assassin's Creed are getting HDR support with the Xbox One X's launch http://m.ign.com/articles/2017/10/23/4-xbox-360-games-getting-xbox-one-x-enhancements

Be sure to watch the minute-long video in that article. I'm shocked at the difference and can't wait to hear more about how Microsoft pulled this off.
And as if I don't already have enough games to play in the next few months, now I'm going to be tempted to play some of these backwards compatible games again, too!
And if this same type of miracle work is being done on original Xbox games, like Ninja Gaiden Black...

By Complicated Go To PostThese backwards compat upgrades for OG Xbox games are insane.Jaw, meet floor.
I've only watched the KotOR one, but I am amazed at how the texture detail was there there all along. I mean, they can't possibly be doing anything to the assets, just a resolution bump and AA/AF. ...Right?
Sony should really take note. I'm not even talking about PS3 BC here (that might actually be really hard to pull off), their PS2 BC tech is inferior and the library is still weak.

In that ign story about Halo 3, oblivion, fallout, etc. they mentioned increased pixel counts. Maybe they were able to find high quality assets or PC assets for these games and incorporate them somehow? Idk. This shit is like magic on consoles.
The X is legitimately tempting for me and I don't know why. Next year when my bonus comes in, I'm planning to get a new system. I'm primarily a Nintendo/PC gamer, but have honestly barley touched my PC this year thanks to the Switch. But I'm not opposed to Sony/Microsoft consoles, historically I've had a PS2 (primarily played GTA Vice City and NCAA Football), and then an Xbox 360 (Mass Effect, Orange Box, Fallout 3/NV, Skyrim).
So as it stands right now, I'm debating between the XBOX, PS4, or just upgrading my PC. With all the overlap between PC and XBOX, it seems upgrading is the obvious route, but I feel that upgrade is going to be pretty expensive, because if I am going to put in a new graphics card and processor, I may as well start a new build from scratch. For exclusives, on the Microsoft side, I'm interested in Cuphead and Sea of Theives, and on the Sony side, I'm interested in MLB the Show, and maybe Persona and Journey. The X has an edge right now just because of raw power and future proofing, and I honestly like Microsoft as a company a little more than Sony. I also don't have a 4K tv yet, but may be picking one up soon as well.

I think modern techniques are just much better in preserving quality too, but it is pretty amazing.

This way of thinking got me back to console gaming a couple years back. Was about to upgrade my PC when I noticed, that such a thing basically costs the same as a new graphics card, and no more hazzle. Bought one on impulse, never looked back.

Dopeee
HDR might actually be of bigger impact to me than 4k (when done well). I know this is Xbox thread, but GT Sport on my Pro is the reference HDR title at the moment for games imo. Its stunning. The more support HDR gets the better as devs will start to get their arms around how to best implement it.
Gears of war 4 confirmed to have 1080/60 in horde and campaign on the X. So happy to hear that. Can’t wait to replay it

Holy shit.
Do we get banned for Portbegging here?
Know what would be awesome?
Windows 10 versions of these games. It's obvious they are using an emulator with custom resolutions.
