Same username as on GAF and a couple of other places. Posted fairly frequently but not prolifically, and hung out in both gaming and OT. Same avatar at the moment although that's likely to change; I couldn't find the original source image so I had to borrow the low-res one from GAF.
Hi! I was a former GAF user ,same pic different name. I was happy to find this place because I always wondered were all the footygaf people went. I will mostly post in the sports-section on Slaent!
By lovingsteam Go To PostWhat's up man. Would love to have you post in the political thread. Remember you from back before I was banned (clovingwestbrook was my nick).
Catchall political threads are always immense efforts! Usually I only post in them when I get the shakes from too much coffee.
Same name as I had in GAF. Really didn't post a lot but did some on NHL community. Always lurked political post.
Same name, same avatar on GAF. I'd been there since switching from /v/ after GG destroyed any attachment to that place I still had left. I popped into random threads, never really belonged to any community in particular though.
I was BamfMeat. I asked for a name change a while ago but they never got to it. I'll change my avatar eventually. I posted here or there, mostly in political, LGBT or weight-related threads. I like to argue :)
Same name and avatar on GAF. Tried to read every post in PoliGAF and not monopolize the replies in the guitar thread. I'm a published writer, fair cook, clumsy guitarist, refined drinker, 51 years old, married 24 years, 15-year-old daughter, 2 indoor cats, 2 outdoor strays, and a dog. Wish I played more videogames.
Another GAFugee here.
Long time lurker on GAF, different name that no one would recognize. I didn't really post much, just read CFB, NFL, and Politics threads. Looking for a fresh start and attempting to be more active here.

Pretty much the same for me. Former gaffer here under a different name and mostly hung out in off topic - mainly NFL/News/Movie topics. Tried out the Waypoint forums first after recent events and was linked to Slaent from there. This place has a good feel about it.
Hey everyone! Another refugee. Sorry if this is a bit long but I wanted to share my story.
I've been visiting forums nearly all my life. My first game console ever was a Genesis, and I discovered GameFAQs when I was still in elementary school and trying to look up cheat codes for the original Sonic games. That then led me to a Sonic fan site which had some awesome members and (at the time) a very active forum. I only lurked there but I grew to love the place. Even though I haven't kept up with the franchise for years, I still check back there every once in a while and smile when I see people who have been there for nearly 15 years now still posting and having fun.
I bounced between lurking on there and GameFAQs as my main go-to forums for a long time. Eventually did make an account at FAQs, but I generally didn't post much. I started to reach out and move outside of my comfort zone more and more by the time I was going through high school, broadening my worldview and seeking out new communities, which ultimately led to me finding NeoGAF in 2011. I remember some of the first threads I ever read there were the Ocarina of Time 3D Official Thread (didn't even know what OT meant) and one about Rebecca Black being harassed at school after becoming famous.
I instantly fell in love with the place after seeing how civil discourse in general there was compared to most other places and for the sheer amount of information it provided. GAF covered one of my favorite hobbies with up to date info about games across every platform and near endless discussion, with an Off Topic section that provided up to date news from nearly everywhere in the world along with often hilarious topics about people's lives or even just random nonsense. I ended up checking the site nearly every day from that point on, since it was nearly everything I ever looked for in a "home" website. I really came to rely on it more than I realized, and reading through the new topics that would pop up helped me through some rough times.
Seeing it all collapse like that over the course of a weekend was a punch to the gut. Even though I never interacted with anyone from there, it was a big part of my life and was a source not only of constant entertainment but also personal growth. The fact that one man and his disgusting actions could cause the collapse of what nearly 200,000 people had helped build is a heartbreaking testament to just how quickly things can disappear.
Which brings me to here. The sheer amount of friendliness and hospitality displayed by the community here over the past couple of days is heartwarming, to say the very least. Out of all the places I've visited, the atmosphere here is one of the most welcoming I've ever experienced....you all are just so chill. I'll never be able to say thank you enough for everything the members here have done in accommodating everyone who felt lost after all that's happened. I already love this place and even though I'm usually more used to lurking, I'll try to contribute here as much as I can.

I am notsol337 here, GAF, and in many other places. I mostly read, and am fairly quiet when it comes to posting. I now lurk here and ResetEra, and will post every now and then. I mostly avoided posting on GAF due to how easy it was to get banned, so once I'm used to the water I'll be a bit more vocal!
I had the same username on Gaf. Wasn't as active as most others, it took me an insane amount of time to create an account and only amassed 450 posts in around 2 years.
Hello everybody! I used to be on GAF as a lurker. I had an account but I've never used the account. Hopefully I will be able to participate more on this site. This is a really cool community so I wanted to join. Thank you slaent for welcoming us!
Hey everyone! Former GAF member here too (though I never posted much). Same username/avatar as before. GAF was the first and only forum I ever posted on so I'm a bit sad to leave it behind.
Love the look of this place and everyone here seems really friendly. I'll probably divide my time between here and ResetEra.

Another GAFugee here, same combo avatar/name. I was active with TLAGAF during the Korra seasons, and after that I was more a lurker, seldom posting.
I don't honestly see myself post here (or in other places) regularly, but I want to say thanks to Sl&ent for their patience with us.

I lurked on Gaf for years and now lurking on Resetera until everything dies down and registration becomes open.
I decided to join here since I heard a lot of gaffers came here before the resetera launch. So far I'm just getting the hang of everything and enjoying the community.

Same name and avatar as on Gaf.
I mostly lurked on Gaf but was slowly coming out of my shell. I almost exclusively read and posted in the OT side.
